IT may be the season of goodwill but try telling that to the players of Hibernian and Rangers as they clash in an important league match at Easter Road. Cards aplenty in Rangers games this season and I don't see this being any different.

Hibernian v Rangers (7.45pm)

The visitors have been involved in plenty of matches this season where the card count has been excessive and a trip to Edinburgh, under the floodlights in front of a full house is exactly what I'm are looking for.

I expect this to be a bruising encounter and there are plenty of players on show who like to get  stuck in or are prone to losing the head.

Hibs come into this revitalised after back-to-back wins and most notably a 2-0 defeat of Celtic on Sunday. That was a terrific result in a match which had real intensity and they will be looking to continue that tonight.

For Hibs Stevie Mallan, Mark Milligan and Ryan Porteous are all likely to be in the thick of the action, especially Milligan who has collected bookings in 5 of his last 7 games. Young Porteous absolutely loves a tackle and although he's only picked up three cards this season is in with a shout to get one tonight.

Rangers as well all know have had a real discipline problem this season, none more so than striker Alfredo Morelos who has 6 bookings and 2 red cards to his name, He's a hothead and it's no surprise he's priced the lowest player to receive a card.

Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack will be right in the thick of things too so worth considering for a card, the former with two bookings in his last three games.

The way Rangers play they are always good for a corner (they got 23 on Sunday albeit against a poor Hamilton side) and Hibs will be no slouches in attack.

Recommended Bets:

  • Ryan Porteous (Hibs) to be booked
  • 5/2 (Unibet)
  • Mark Milliagn (Hibs) to be booked
  • 15/8(Bet365)
  • Ryan Jack (Rangers) to be booked
  • 5/1(William Hill)
  • Scott Arfield to be booked
  • 12/5 (Bet365)

ALL 4 pay 200/1 (Bet365)- Morelos and Mallan also likely candidates) – Back Mallan if Milligan doesn't start 12/5

  • Over 10 match corners
  • 5/6 (Bet365)

A real surprise this game was goalless

And an even been bigger surprise there was only 3 bookings

Posteous was booked which helped salvage the night along with the bookings.

3-1 or 4-1 Rangers should have been the result and Morelos on another night would have had a hat-trick.
