THERE'S an important game from the Scottish Championship as league leaders Ross County make the long 412 mile round trip to Greenock and have a terrific opportunity to create a 6 point gap between them and second-placed Ayr and 10 to third-placed Dundee united.
Greenock Morton v Ross County (7.45pm)
It's been a very satisfactory return to the Championship for Ross County after last year's relegation – halfway through the season they sit perched nicely at the top of the league and I don't see anyone moving them off there.
They've been extremely consistent and have only suffered two defeats in their 19 league games (one of which was a 2-1 defeat here in August)
A big pat of their success this season is the form of striker Billy Mckay who already has 12 goals to his name and has scored in his last three, he's a good shout to net again tonight.
County have scored in 8 of their 9 away matches this season and they should get on the score sheet again tonight against an inconsistent Morton side.
You just don't know what Morton side will turn up. They've had some terrific results this season but they've also had some horror shows having been on the receiving end of a couple of five-goal hammerings from today's opponents last time they met and Ayr United.
Morton have scored in 11 of their 12 home matches in all competition this season and are more than capable of getting a result tonight if they turn up and if they do we should see both sides finding they net.
