THE UCL takes centre stage tonight but there is an important SPFL match at Pittodrie where my primary focus will be as Aberdeen look get back to winning ways against surprise package Livingston.
Aberdeen v Livingston (7.45pm)
If you had said at the start of the season these two would play at Aberdeen in December and you would get 5/6 on the home side, you'd be laughed at but that's exactly the situation we are in.
Aberdeen have had a stop-start season and surprisingly find themselves behind Kilmarnock, Livingston and St Johnstone after 15 matches and it's the latter who gave them their latest poor result as they went down to Tommy Wright's high-flying St Johnstone.
That result came off the back of a fine and rare victory at Ibrox and they went toe to toe with Celtic in the Scottish League Cup Final so it was a little bit surprising they went down so easily, that said, they were playing against an in-form Saints side.
It's been well publicised Aberdeen have been toothless in front of goal (just 17 goals in 15 games) but at home Pittodrie has been a tough place for teams to go (prior to Saturday they have won 5 home games on the spin).
Livingston have had a fantastic return to the SPFL and sit in 6th place with 25 points which is incredible. They won't have many plaudits for the football they play, they are extremely hard working though and very difficult to break down, making best use of set-pieces.
Their home astroturf pitch has come in for much criticism but they wont care, 6 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat against St Johnston is an impressive haul at home, away from home though it's a different story, just 5 points from their 7 away games and that is a concern and it goes to show just how much they benefit from their home comforts of the Toni Macaroni Stadium.
Dons Boss Derek McInnes will be looking for a reacting after Saturday's loss and while Livi will make them work hard and make life difficult I'm taking Aberdeen to edge this at what is a very decent price. Sam Cosgrove and Niall McGinn returning to the starting XI should help.
Recommended Bet
- Aberdeen
- 5/6 (Blacktype) (NAP)

A busy night of fixtures in the last round of the group games and the over 2.5 goals double at Anfield and the Nou Camp pays 11/10 which I'll be on as Liverpool host Napoli and Tottenham travel to Barcelona.
It's a decent looking card and based on those fixtures I'm taking over 1.5 goals to be scored in all 8 matches, most of these will land with ease, hoping the early kick-offs set us up nicely.
Recommended Bets
- Liverpool/Barcelona matches over 2.5 goals double
- 11/10 (Ladbrokes)
- All 8 UCL games over 1.5 goals
- 7/2 (Skybet)
Mr Browning
I lost good money on Hibernian last week versus St Mirren after reading your write up.
I have now had a big bet on Aberdeen and they are losing.
Once again reading your write up as if Aberdeen are a certainty.
Your tips have been struggling badly recently, ALL very disappointing
You need to remember games last 90 minutes. Nothing wrong with Greg’s write-up but you’re left looking silly by criticising him.
@MANCITY01 Apology accepted ??
Never a certainty in betting, I strongly fancied Aberdeen tonight and the bet landed
Aberdeen battered Livingston tonight, was a deserved late goal.
Yes the statistics backup the Aberdeen win.
WELL Done :-)
Sometimes a slice of a football teams dominance pays rewards.
A great night for both Liverpool and Tottenham, off to watch Man City tomorrow.
In betting do you use a bank and bet per point.
How many points are a good guide.
Thanks very much
No don’t use a bank or points
NAP is always my main bet and main stake half that for the other bets I post
