SABINE LISICKI will be the choice of Wimbledon fans – and has been chosen by punters as she bids to land her first Grand Slam title today.

The German has won over the Centre Court with her golden smile and obvious love for the game in contrast to rival Marion Bartoli who skulks around swatting anything that moves.

There couldn’t be a bigger contrast between the two finalists but both have reached the showdown playing some sparkling and tenacious tennis.

Lisicki was installed as tournament favourite after beating Serena Williams in the last 16 and I’ve put up winning tips on each of her matches since her third-round clash.

So I can’t desert her now even if she looks a little short at a best 4-9 with Betfred and others to floor the Frenchwoman. Lisicki suffered a second-set dip in her semi-final win against Agnieskza Radwanska and there is every chance of the Final going all the way too.

Bartoli, 7-4 across the board, is the female equivalent of David Ferrer in that she never gives up a point and having coasted to the Final she should be fresh enough to mount a challenge.

So take Lisicki to win 2-1 and that pays a best 10-3 at Ladbrokes. Lisicki 2-0 is much shorter at 6-5 with Coral.

Former runner-up Bartoli is the underdog despite not dropping a set and is 4-1 with the likes of Ladbrokes and William Hill to prevail 2-0 and 5-1 at bet365 for 2-1.

Just to go to three sets Ladbrokes and Skybet offer up 13-8.

The German was a best 80-1 before the tournament while 2007 finalist Bartoli has been available at 810-1 on Betfair so good luck if you have any of those tickets and get ready to cover your bet.

Bartoli is my bet as even though liscki got through to the final she was terrible to watch in the semis making so many unforced errors , Bartoli is consistent and will make liscki hit winners

Lee, I could make a case for either to be honest. Lisicki a better server, Bartoli as you say more consistent and a battler. Not easy to call really so best bet could be the 13-8 for three sets.

I’ll back Bartoli. She seems more pumped-up on winning the tourney, and had easier matches so far, so should be more fresh for finals.

Malisha, she might be fresher but they’ll be both be fit enough and up for it.

Malisha, off out to watch second half of the Lions then back for some tennis before going to work. Off tomorrow though and looking forward to the Murray match (not).

I just feel Bartoli wants this win more. Lisicki is half-content after beating Serena and all the hipe that’s been around her after that won’t help her at all, while Bartoli came this far without much fuss.

Malisha, I think that’s rubbish to be honest. They both want it as badly as each other. Lisicki’s handled the hype well to win two tough games sinces beating Williams. As you see I’m with Lisicki but I’m not super confident and certainly not writing off Bartoli.

Malisha, Lisicki wants it so bad she’s crying during games. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before but she’s not handling the pressure very well at all. Looking like a straight-sets stroll for Bartoli.

I have wagered on Lisicki to lose the first set and win 2-1 and after an overnight think and three slices of toast- taking in to account the above comments- Bartoli to win 2-1 any way she likes. The tennis has been far more profitable than those mad team footy matches. As long as its three sets I’ll be happy.

Lord Clegg, I’m with you on three sets. That’s my main bet.

adij, she’s having a nightmare unfortunately. Pretty much no chance of this going to 3 sets.

we spend all week building up a kitty for a flutter on the final and then lose it all on the worst performance I have ever seen, its cringeworthy!!!!!

adij, why would you do that? Why blow it all on a game most observers reckoned could have gone either way?

mrfixittips that what i was saying liscki only got this far because of her serves she had one good challenege in this tournament ( williams ) but it was more that williams didnt perform than liscki playing well , liscki just makes to many unforced errors

lee, lisicki’s played well every game to get the final so that’s a bit harsh. Didn’t turn up today and looked as nervous as hell.

fair play to Marion Bartoli she done what she needed to do, i think Lisicki handed to her there really poor performance you could see she only really started playing at at 5-1 down in the 2nd set which was always going to be to late

to be honest with you mr f I didn’t back lisicki to win, I backed over 21.5 games which barring a complete collapse by either player should have come in quite comfortably, and the complete collapse happened. everyone predicted a close game which would indicate 3 sets and lots of games, no one could have predicted a lisicki meltdown like that!!!!!!

adij, fair enough but you didn’t make that clear. Lisicki was a big letdown but the occasion just got to her.
