The first blockbuster game of the new Premier League season kicks off this afternoon at Old Trafford as Manchester United host Arseanl.

United were a club in chaos on and off the field last term as Jim Radcliffe made a serious of unpopular decisions and Ruben Amorim led the team to a dismal 15th-place finish in the Premier League.

Arsenal had a far better campaign but again finished with no silverware as they were runners-up for a third year in a row and lost in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Both Amorim and Mikel Arteta now need to deliver and it will be fascinating to see how this opening game pans out.

Manchester United vs Arsenal top betting tips

Both these sides were in desperate of need of a centre forward this summer and they've spent big, with United signing Benjamin Sesko from Leipzig and Arsenal splashing out on Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres.

Having a target man up front should add another dimension to each team's game and a double on both players either scoring or assisting this afternoon pays a decent 11/4 with Bet365.

Sesko isn't the only new arrival up front for United, with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo also arriving. That will make Amorim's side much more threatening so I also like the 11/10 at Bet365 for Arsenal keeper David Raya to make over 2.5 saves.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

At the start of last season, you would have got pretty astronomical odds on Chelsea becoming world champions just a few weeks after Crystal Palace got their hands on the FA Cup by beating Manchester City.

But that's how the campaign ended, with both these London clubs heading into the summer on a massive high.

Palace's silver lining came with a cloud though as they lost their place in the Europa League due to the UEFA's multi-club ownership rules and dropped into the Conference League instead.

Boss Oliver Glasner also hasn't been backed in the transfer market, with £2million left-back Borna Sosa and freebie keeper Walter Benitez the only new arrivals so far.

The same can't be said for Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, with more big-money signings checking in, so it's no surprise to see the Blues as 4/6 favourites at BoyleSports.

Palace still have a top-class first XI but Marseca's side should be too strong and combining the home win with over 1.5 goals pays 10/11.

Joao Pedro made an instant impact at the Club World Cup after signing from Brighton so I'd imagine the Brazilian will start up front. He's a decent 11/8 at BoyleSports for anytime scorer.

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford

It has been a tough summer for Brentford, with the Bees losing boss Thomas Frank to Tottenham and star striker Bryan Mbuemo to Manchester United.

Yoanne Wissa is also being tipped to follow Mbuemo out the door, which would deprive new boss Keith Andrews of a strikeforce that delivered 39 of Brentford's 66 Premier League goals last season.

So it's easy to see why some pundits think the Bees might be dragged into a relegation battle this season and we'll get an early indication of how they're shaping up when they take on Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

What's forgotten is that last season's big summer buy, Igor Thiago, rarely featured last term due to injury.  The Brazilian will be out to make an impact in this campaign and he's 8/5 at Bet365 to either score or assist.

Forest's Elliot Anderson is always at the heart of the midfield battle and I like the evens on offer at the same firm for the England Under-21 hero to commit over 1.5 fouls.

Sunday's Super Singles

  • Arsenal's David Raya over 2.5 saves 11/10 Bet365
  • Joao Pedro anytime scorer 11/8 BoyleSports
  • Elliot Anderson over 1.5 fouls Evens Bet365

Deadly double

  • Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko to score or assist 11/4 Bet365
