WITH things so tight in the race for Championship promotion there’s pretty much a top-of-the-table clash every weekend.

The big game today sees Kilmarnock host Inverness and this will be the acid test of Derek McInnes’ reign.

The former Aberdeen boss was brought in to lead Killie to the title and has started well, with his only defeat coming in extra-time to Premiership side Dundee United in the Cup.

The Rugby Park men still sit third but they have a game in hand and can jump above second-placed Caley Thistle with a win today.

The bookies fancy them to do just that with Kilmarnock favourites at a best 11/10 with SportNation.

I’m going to have a nibble at that price, even though the stalemate will also be popular at 23/10 with Betfair given Inverness have drawn their last four matches.

Oli Shaw let me down when I backed him for a cup goal last week but he’s 13/8 with McBookie to net today and that looks good.

Arbroath continue to lead the table against the odds and the part-timers now host Partick Thistle.

Dick Campbell’s men have been a bogey team for the Jags, going seven unbeaten against them.

That makes Betway’s odds of 8/5 on the home win look generous but it might be safer to back BTTS at 68/67 with VBet. That bet has come up in five of the last six meetings.

There’s a huge clash at the other end of the table with the bottom two meeting as Dunfermline travel to Queen of the South.

The Doonhamers are on a dreadful run of one win in seven while the Pars have improved a bit with a win and draw in their last two.

But this it too tough to call so I’m going to be against odds instead with so much at stake.

Under 2.5 goals pays just 4/6 at Unibet but betting against BTTS is a bit better at 19/20 with BetVictor.

Ayr sit seventh but are far from safe as they are just three points ahead of rock-bottom Queens heading into their clash at Hamilton.

Both teams have been inconsistent so it’s another tricky game to predict.

Kai Kennedy could start for Accies after a debut off the bench last time out.

The Rangers loanee is 11/2 with McBookie for a goal and that looks value if he starts.

There are some tasty games in League One with Falkirk heading to Montrose and Queen’s Park hosting in-form Airdrie. I fancy a BTTS double (19/10, SBK).

League Two leaders Kelty are on a high after beating St Johnstone in the Cup. Combining a win over Stranraer with over 2.5 goals pays evens at McBookie.

Super Singles

  • Kilmarnock to win (11/10, SportNation)
  • BTTS no in QoS v Dunfermline (19/20, BetVictor)
  • Kelty win and over 2.5 goals (evens, McBookie)

Long Shot

  • Kennedy goal (11/2, McBookie).

McBookie Bet Builder

  • Combining BTTS with over 1.5 goals at Arbroath pays 103/100.
