REMEMBER Terry Gibson? Well, we've signed him and while he won't be kicking a football he'll be looking into his crystal ball and bringing us his best Spanish tips every week.
The ex-Spurs, Coventry and Manchester United striker is probably best remembered for his time as part of the infamous Wimbledon Crazy Gang side of the late 80s and early 90s. Now an expert in all things La Liga he works as a pundit and co-commentator on Sky Sports’ Spanish football coverage and is a contributor to unibet.
After correctly calling two out of three games yesterday Terry previews Leganes' trip to Las Palmas today.
Las Palmas v Leganes (Sunday 5.30pm)
I'm going all out for a home win in this game. I'm liking what I'm seeing at the moment from Las Palmas and I'm pleased to say that they have seemed to have recovered their form from the 1st half of last season. Let's forget the second half!
They are playing their traditional style of silky football and now seem to have found some firepower up front to add to their constant creativity. The firepower has come from Jonathan Calleri and Loic Remy, believe it or not.
That firepower is the biggest reason that I'm so confident that Las Palmas win this game. It's also the lack of attacking intent from their opponents Leganés that convinces me.
It's just three goals scored by the visitors so far this season by three different players. They were the second lowest scorers last season in La Liga with just 36 scored and don't appear to have been able to have changed much for this season.
Their only hope is defensively they are pretty sound, well you would have to be wouldn't you. I have bemoaned the fact that they have only scored three, well I have to give credit to the fact that they have only conceded three too.
I genuinely believe, though, that Las Palmas have the ability and style to open up the defence of Leganés with the individual skill of Vitolo, Jonathan Viera and Tana providing numerous chances for the front two.
I'm expecting the Las Palmas win by at least 2 goals with Jonathan Viera setting them on the way with the first goal. My prediction is for the 2-0 home win.
