Fresh off the back of five winners from five selections in the Scottish League Cup in midweek, SlipsTips is back with a double from Saturday's batch of Scottish Premiership fixtures.
Hearts vs Livingston (Saturday, 15:00)
Hearts' flying start to the season has been slowed by back-to-back draws and they are unlikely to have things all their own way against Livingston at Tynecastle on Saturday.
The capital club continued their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-2 draw at Ross County last weekend, while Livi picked up their first three points of the season with a shock 1-0 win over Celtic.
David Martindale's men have since crashed out of the Premier Sports Cup at Rangers, picking up two cards in the process, and that train of thought has led me towards Saturday's 9/10 double with PaddyPower.
The Lions sit top of the early-season disciplinary standings, with a lofty 3.17 yellow card per-game average, collecting at least two cautions in six of their last eight outings across league and cup competition.
Hearts should see plenty of the ball at their Gorgie base this weekend and it's worth noting that Robbie Neilson's Jambos have drawn 2+ bookings from their opponents in four of their last five top-flight fixtures
Referee Gavin Duncan is a standard-frequency card issuer but Martindale's team have totted up 10 yellow cards across three Scottish Premiership road trips thus far so I'm more than happy for 2+ Livi bookings to form the first half of my recommended bet.
Motherwell vs Ross County (Sunday, 15:00)
One of the Scottish Premiership's surprise packages this season has been Motherwell, who banked a trio of wins before battling to a well-deserved 1-1 draw at Rangers last weekend.
Graham Alexander and Co will be keen to keep the feelgood factor flowing when hoisting a Ross County side on Saturday who are showing gradual signs of improvement.
Malkay Mackay's side have taken three draws from a difficult opening stretch to the Scottish Premiership season and another closely-fought contest could be on the cards in North Lanarkshire.
The Steelmen are averaging north of three of cards per 90 minutes this season, while Ross County have posted a 2.33 card per-game average across their opening six Scottish Premiership assignments.
In fact, nine of the 12 league games that these two teams have contested collectively this term have featured three or more cautions so I'm more than happy to complete my 9/10 (PaddyPower) double with over 2.5 cards at Fir park.
What's more, we also have a favourable referee appointment in Craig Napier who was one of the more card-happy operators in Scotland last season, averaging 3.9 cards per-game.
Recommended Bet
- Hearts vs Livingston – Over 1.5 Livingston Cards
- Motherwell vs Ross County – Over 2.5 Match Cards
- Double (9/10, PaddyPower)
