As for Man City, they were unable to build on last week’s 5-1 win over Burnley when drawing 2-2 away at Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Erling Haaland to Score or Assist
For the first of two player-based selections, I’m going with Erling Haaland to either score or assist. The Man City star is playing at the peak of his powers right now, netting eight goals and providing one assist across his opening eight Premier League appearances of the season. On top of that, the Norwegian ace has also scored three of his team’s four goals in this season’s Champions League.
That doesn’t bode well for a Brentford side that have found clean sheets difficult to come across in this season’s Premier League. In fact, the Bees have failed to keep the back door shut in five of their six top-flight tussles this term, leaking multiple goals in four of those contests.
With all that in mind, the aforementioned Haaland will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing a Brentford defence that has been far from solid this term.
Yegor Yarmolyuk To Commit 1+ Foul
I’m more than happy to conclude the Bet Builder double by including Yegor Yarmolyuk, to commit a minimum of one foul on Sunday afternoon. The Brentford midfielder is a player that has regularly found himself on the referee’s radar this term, averaging 1.71 fouls per game in this season’s Premier League.
Upon closer inspection, it can be seen that Yarmolyuk has committed at least one foul in each of his six top-flight appearances this term, making multiple misdemeanours in two of his last three outings. It’s also worth noting that the 21-year-old Ukrainian was booked during Brentford 2-2 draw when hosting Chelsea last month.
Now up against star-studded Man City, there is plenty of scope for Yarmolyuk to overstep the mark again on at least one occasion. Pep Guardiola's side is stacked with talent, not to mention they have drawn an average of almost 11 fouls per 90 across their opening six Premier League contests of the campaign.
