IT’S the final weekend in the Scottish Football Leagues – and we only have one more chance to beat the bookies!
So let’s see if we can go out on a blaze of glory. Once again our lower-league man Joe Wallace has been on the case in the hunt for a winning treble.
And we kick off in the Irn-Bru First Division and Ross County’s home clash with Cowdenbeath. It has been a disappointing season for the Dingwall men but they can finish the season in a flourish by taking all three points against Beath.
In the last three meetings between the clubs County are undefeated – and have won 3-1 and 4-0 in that time. Jimmy Calderwood’s men are only three points ahead of their visitors going into this match but I reckon they will edge further away from Beath by winning this weekend. Go for a home win at 3-4 with bodog.
Concentrating on the Second Division and champions Livingston will look to sign off for the season in style as they travel to face Alloa. Livi are unbeaten in their last five encounters with the Wasps and will hope to head off on their summer holidays with another three points under their belts.
Gary Bollan’s men go into this match a whopping 43 points clear of Alloa so take them to increase the gap to 46 points at 5-4 with Skybet and Coral.
In the Third Division champions Arbroath can kick off their title party by taking all three points at home to Elgin. The Gayfield men have won their last five clashes against City and despite having nothing to play for I reckon they will be looking for the win that would start their celebrations in style.
Add in the fact the Red Lichties have won the last five fixtures against City and you can see why I am going for a home win. Go for an Arbroath victory at 7-10 with William Hill and sportingbet.
