Malaga v Granada, Monday, 8pm
MALAGA need to get their season up and running after spending millions in a bid to become Spain's third force.
The Qatari-owned club were tipped by many to be nearest rivals to Barcelona and Real Madrid but slipped up on day one with a 2-1 defeat at Sevilla.
On Monday they tackle newly-promoted near rivals Granada who are in the top flight after two successive promotions.
It's a remarkable feat for the little club but they've been backed for relegation and made a predicted start with a 1-0 home defeat by Real Betis.
Malaga are a best 4-9 with the likes of bodog, Paddy Power and Betfred to notch a win and should do so. Granada are 15-2 at Stan James.
Home coach Manuel Pellegrini has made a host of stellar signings and one of them, Ruud van Nistelrooy, is 4-1 favourite at bet365 and Chandler to score first. Another new boy, Santi Cazorla, is 15-2 at Paddy Power but I'd go for van the man who can still do the business at the highest level.
There has already been a shock in La Liga with Barca being held 2-2 by Real Sociedad and Getafe gave Real Madrid a scare before going down 4-2.
Goals could be on show in Malaga too and try over 2.75 at 19-20 with Chandler.
Recommendations
Van Nistelrooy to score first
(4-1, bet365, Chandler)
Over 2.75 goals
(19-20, Chandler)
