MRF2018 LillevMarseille

LILLE v MARSEILLE

Ligue 1. Kick-off 8pm. Sunday 30th September 2018. Live on BT Sport 1

FIFTH plays fourth in the table and Marseille especially are among the goals, a 4-2 reverse last week away to Lyon the latest instalment for a team who seem to have abandoned the art of defending in the hope of scoring more than their opponents.

This makes for entertaining viewing for the neutral if nothing else.

With hard-earned cash riding on the chosen outcome, this spectacle can also provide us with some icing on the entertainment cake. The relative Ligue 1 placings mean the potential is there for both sides to try and consolidate their current position by nicking the win that could even possibly lift them up to 2nd place.

So will they show that caution?

Marseille have not failed to score this season in any Ligue 1 game, with 19 for and 13 against. Lille look fortress-like in comparison, but they also know where the net is. Pepe and Bamba have started the Ligue 1 season well for them.

There has to be goals in this one with the attacking intent of the away side opening the game up. With Thauvin, Payet, Germain and Mitroglou in the ranks Marseille can and should score, their last six matches going over 2.5 goals.

Marseille can get their noses in front and stay there in what should be a cracker to round off the week.
