IT'S a massive night of football but remember to go with level stakes and don't be tempted to bust the bank because there are so many games.
I've posted a separate Champions League preview and will put some top tips here.
I'll be away most of Tuesday golfing so will have another look at the card when I return and post more tips. I won't be answering comments until late in the afternoon so if you have something to direct to me leave it until then.
There's one game in Scotland and I'm taking on Rangers in their League Cup tie at home to Inverness. A side who haven't played in the top flight for three seasons shouldn't be the favourites so I'm backing ICT at a best 21-10 with bet365 and you can have ICT at 8-13 not to lose.
Rangers are 6-4 at William Hill and Paddy Power while the stalemate is 12-5 with McBookie and others.
Question marks remain over the Ibrox side's defence and Billy Mckay is a striker who can take advantage of slackness. He is 15-2 at McBookie.
I watched Kris Boyd miss a handful of chances at Kirkcaldy last Friday and while he's without a league goal he hit two in the last round of the Cup. Boyd is 19-4 at McBookie to net first but on recent evidence midfielder Nicky Law is a better bet at 7-5 with McBookie to score.
It's also a busy card in England and I like Norwich at Brentford in the Championship after they hit back from 2-0 down at Cardiff to win 4-2 at the weekend.
Watford at Blackpool and Bournemouth at home to Leeds have also to be considered but I'm not putting up my English tips until late afternoon having concentrated on the Champions League games and Rangers v Inverness.

Liverpool will be hoping to get back to winning ways after their shock defeat at the weekend. I’m on Gerrard first goal @ 8/1 with VC. There’s every chance that Liverpool could concede so how about Ludogorets winger Mihail Aleksandrov to score first @ 80/1 with Betfred. That’s a huge price for any midfielder and I’m taking a punt on him for first goal and last goal. Most bookies are offering odds of 18/1 and 20/1 with Ladbrokes offering the next best price of 25/1. Aleksandrov has scored 16 goals in 85 appearances for Ludogorets so he does score now and again.

Nicely priced for a Turkish team at home to a much weaker opponent. Hostile atmosphere and I don’t think Anderlecht will fancy it one bit.
Benfica to beat Zenit evens
A lot has been made about Zenit’s good start to the season but are they actually that good in Europe? Benfica are very strong at home especially in Europe and at evens they look far too big for me.

For those of you pointing out Bristol City (which is a superb shout) I’ve noticed both teams like to score and concede. City’s last three away have seen BTTS come in with City winning two of those 2-1.

You can get a massive 18/5 for Bristol to win and BTTS. Its been noted on here before that its two bets into one but the stats don’t lie.
Incidentally BTTS flew in at Vale Park last year 1-1 with Bristol winning the game at Ashton Gate later on in the season 5-0.

Athletico Madrid at evens seems a great price, put this into perspective, Liverpool lost their Saturday game at HOME to villa 1-0 probably with Tuesdays champions league game on their mind. Athletico won their Saturday game at Real AWAY and also had a Tuesday game to think about. I just feel Athletico are a team brimming with confidence and focus and the way Simeone has them playing he won’t accept anything less than victory to start the campaign, and with all due respect Olympiakos are beatable and may not be able to cope with last year’s finalists. My comparison with Liverpool is just made to highlight the mentality and desire of Athletico.

Without getting into any debate with any of the fine chaps who follow them Mick it is inevitable as financially they cannot survive much longer and any investment would only be attractive after administration. It would be a great move long term for the club if someone who genuinely cares about Rangers comes in and takes over, ridding them off all the parasites that have bled them dry from top to bottom. Recent share issue basically failed but was bailed out by those within the club putting their hands in their pockets.

What’s the point of Ladbrokes Odds On “loyalty” card? It was useless before but as of today you now have to stake 4 pounds to get one point. One point equals 1pence. Earning a ten pound free reward bet now means staking four thousand pounds. 4 grand for a tenner? Mine’s gone in the bin, not worth the extra weight in the wallet.

One tip I would like to highlight tonight is my team Coventry are heading north to face Scunny tonight and one player in particular I like as a 3/1 anyitme bet to score is Gary Mcsheffrey. Got a feeling he will be up for this being a Coventry lad and having played for us for so long as a kid scoring plenty as a left winger. After having spells at brum and forest etc. he came back but was never the same. Scored 1 goal out of 17 appearances for Scunny which isn’t a great record but this game will mean a lot to him so wouldn’t be surprised to see him score.

You guys wouldn’t believe the hassle i’ve had today with bet365‘s inplay cashout not updating:
Yesterday I took my £10 to £18 and went to bed.
From around 11am, I spent the next 6 hrs picking up tiny doubles and trebles on the over 0.5 goals per match, got it to £28 and by the 65th minute, my 1/50 banker was running out of steam so I cashed out at £16.
I stuck with my plan of doubles and trebles here there and everywhere, and before the main card of tonights games, I cashed out my bets @ £72 around 7.30pm.
I stuck my neck out on a few bets, I had £30 on Juve,Liverpool,Real M : had a 7 fold on the above 3x + 4x over 0.5 goals ( galatasaray, borrussia dortmund, monaco, Olympiakos ).
Also had a very speculative 7 fold fiver that burton let it go kaput.
By the 60th minute I found a live feed to watch Liverpool – thought i’d try to guage the match by watching it:
Liverpool was the only one holding me up, my finger hovering over the cash out buttons ( 15 and 13 pounds on my two main bets ).
Liverpool scored and saved my butt, so i thought – cash out, you’re margainally up……… then bet365‘s cashout freezes,
I’d also put a little 4 way, small odds of teams already home and dry for a 7% potential profit.
I rang bet365 and was on hold for soooooo long, then Liverpool concede………. aaaaaaaaaaaaargh…….

Mon Los, this is a cup final, so I imagine they will be fielding teams as strong as possible from both sides. The Portland game is also a fairly important cup tie with Olimpia being top of the group with a +7 goal difference and Portland on +3 with 3 points. Olimpia are very strong in their own league but the standard of football should be too strong from Portland who have been scoring quite frequently recently.

I wasn’t watching it but I had it on Bet3six5 and when the goal alert sound came on I checked 365 to see 2-1 as the score, there was no need to cash-out as I had 1.5+ home goals. When I noticed on soccerway later that 1-1 was the FT score. I double checked my account, it was paid out around 75 mins into the game. I saw the goal in the instant replay. Therefore I am unsure when or if the goal was chopped off.

Chelsea to win to nil @ 19/20. Don’t usually like these bets, but everyone has tipped -1 so there’s no point in me saying that. You can cover it with Chelsea -1 or Chelsea to win in my opinion. Beat Schalke twice 3-0 last season, they’re without a doubt a worse team now with the injuries they have and we’re better.
Mourinho will have been fuming, like much of the Chelsea support with the high scoring games of later and it’s an alternative to -1 although I expect both to come in.
