Iceland v Belgium
UEFA Nations league. KO 7:45, Tuesday 11th September2018. Live on SkySports Football
What the hell happened to the Iceland ?
The awkward little team that have caused problems on the world stage for some of the biggest footballing nations on the planet. The team whose fans have one of the most intimidating chants around, the inimitable thunderclap. They got absolutely crucified 6 nil by an uncharacteristically prolific Switzerland away from home last week. As a fan of the Icelandic team and their defiant football, it wasn't pleasant to watch.
Whatever it was, new head coach Erik Hamren couldn't have had a worse start to his tenure as manager , watching in shock as the Swiss unleashed blitzkrieg on his stunned squad. If this is what the Swiss could manage, imagine what the Belgians are going to do to them!
Scotland were put the sword 4-0 in front of a subdued Hampden crowd last week, Belgium super sub Michy Batshuayi scored a brace and made the Scottish national side look like a slightly unfit Sunday league pub team.
The 4-11 on them destroying Iceland is about right in my book but in no way a price I would want to take on anything.
But two things are fairly certain here, Belgium will win and there will be goals. Scanning the markets for value I was about to give up on this game when the 6/5 offered by Betfair on Belgium win and over 2.5 goals jumped off the page! So fill your boots.
