Sometimes it's better to stick to the simple shouts when punting on Scottish football and there are three games with an odds-against value that screams out on Monday.

CELTIC look to be a fantastic bet at 13/10 – which may not last – against Rangers at Ibrox in the lunchtime Old Firm showdown.

Usually, predicting a winner in an Old Firm game leads to a shortcut to the poorhouse, but this Celtic team look a whole class above anyone else in the league at the moment and that very much includes Rangers.

Ange Postecoglou's men are currently absolutely relentless and the frightening thing for the rest is that it doesn't seem to matter how much he rotates or changes his squad, they are extremely powerful everywhere all over the park.

Realistically, if you were picking a combined XI of the sides, Connor Goldson and maybe an on-form Ryan Kent would be the only Rangers players to get into the team.

New Ibrox boss Michael Beale has already indicated they will attempt to go for Celtic's throats from kick-off and strangulate them. Still, surely that's exactly what Celtic will be expecting anyway.

And it's a big ask to keep that up for 90 minutes against the fittest team in the league.

Rangers remain hampered by injuries and have already been blown away once by Celtic this season and the champions should complete a double.

HEARTS were the only team to let us down last week, but it's worth sticking with them to win the Edinburgh derby against Hibs.

Despite the horrific injury to Craig Gordon, Hearts are a team that should be backed most weeks against non Old Firm sides and they really should comfortably end up getting third now their European commitments are out of the way.

Hibs continue to be a shambles who can't defend and Lawrence Shankland must be rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect of coming up against them at Tynecastle.

The Leith men must be struggling for confidence with hapless manager Lee Johnson cutting an increasingly out-his-depth figure recently and the 23/20 for a home win looks nailed on.

LIVINGSTON look a solid shout at 6/4 to beat Motherwell.

David Martindale's side have been hampered severely recently with a player sent off in their last two games. However, even with ten men, they were the better side against high-flying St Mirren.

They are facing a Motherwell team down to the bare bones and should have too much for the Streelmen at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

CELTIC 13/10
HEARTS 23/20
LIVINGSTON 6/4
