Scottish football expert KevMac has a quartet of tips for us this weekend in the Scottish Premiership.

Aberdeen v Hibernian

THE Red Army are close to open revolt as their patience in the Stephen Glass revolution wears thin.

Punters were lapping up a more expansive style of football earlier in the season after years of pragmatism under old boss Derek McInnes.

But they would now bite your hand off for a 1-0 victory over Hibs today after watching the Dons go 10 games without a win.

Last weekend’s 2-1 loss at Dundee made it five league defeats in a row but chairman Dave Cormack launched a passionate defence of under-fire Glass on radio in midweek.

However, even he will know today’s clash with the Hibees at Pittodrie is a must-win game if Aberdeen are to emerge from the pits of despair.

It’s easy to see where the problems lie for the Dons as they haven’t kept a clean sheet since defeating Dundee United on the opening day of the Premiership campaign in August.

Backing over 2.5 goals came up for me at Dens last weekend and there should be more action at both ends when Hibs come calling today.

Jack Ross’ men are also in need of a victory after successive defeats to Rangers and Dundee United took the shine of their flying start to the season.

Clean sheets have been hard to come by of late for the Hibees as well with just one in their last five matches.

That makes both teams to score an attractive bet today and the odds are pretty decent at evens with McBookie.

That’s probably because BTTS failed to land in any of the four meetings last season but it could be a different story here with Aberdeen far more open since Glass took charge.

I’m also surprised to see over 2.5 goals as big as 7/5 with SBK given the way both sides have been defending.

Kevin Nisbet scored on the last away day for Hibs at Ibrox and looks decent value at 3/1 with Paddy Power to grab a goal at Pittodrie as well.

Celtic v St Johnstone

Celtic are finally starting to find a bit of consistency under Ange Postecoglou, winning three in a row and keeping clean sheets in their last two matches.

They host St Johnstone today and are McBookie’s hot 2/9 favourites with Saints as big as 29/2 at SBK.

Callum Davidson’s men bust plenty of coupons, including mine, when they lost 3-0 at home to Livingston last weekend.

Inconsistency has been a major problem but Saints can be a tough nut to crack so I’d be surprised if Celtic blew them away at Parkhead.

Backing most goals to come in the second half could be the wisest bet here and it pays 23/20 with Betway.

Davidson will probably ask his side to sit deep and that makes Celtic corners another good option for punters.

McBookie price over 7.5 Hoops corners at evens and that bet has come up eight times this term.

Tom Rogic broke down Motherwell’s defence with a stunning pass for Celtic’s opening goal last weekend. He’s 11/4 with McBookie for another assist here and that looks good value.

Hearts v Dundee

With leaders Rangers in action at St Mirren tomorrow it gives Hearts the chance to go top of the pile today.

The Jambos host improving Dundee and it’s a game that promises a few goals, with over 2.5 strikes paying evens at SBK.
Former Hibs striker Leigh

Griffiths will get pelters from the stands and looks overpriced at 5/1 with Unibet to silence the snipers with a goal.

He’s also 15/8 with Paddy Power to be carded and that might stand a better chance.

Dundee United v Motherwell

Dundee United have been the Premiership surprise package so far but face a tricky game at home to Motherwell today.

I can see it being tight so a one-goal winning margin for either side appeals at 5/4 with McBookie.

Ross County v Livingston

Ross County have yet to claim a league win but will fancy their chances at home to Livingston.

The Staggies are 15/8 with SBK and that might be worth a punt.

St Mirren v Rangers

Rangers could find in-form St Mirren a tough nut to crack tomorrow so I’m backing under 2.5 goals at 22/23 with SBK.

Super Singles

  • Over 2.5 goals at Pittodrie (7/5, SBK)
  • Tom Rogic assist (11/4, McBookie)
  • One-goal winning margin at Tannadice (5/4, McBookie)
  • Leigh Griffiths to be booked (15/8, Paddy Power)
