RANGERS will be looking to get back on track at Tannadice today after the midweek loss at Malmo left their Champions League dream hanging in the balance.
It looked Steven Gerrard men’s would have it all to do in the return leg against the Swedes as they trailed 2-0 deep into stoppage time.
But Steven Davis netted with the last kick of the ball, ruining my midweek bet builder, and that goal could be massive as the Ibrox club chase their Euro millions jackpot.
Dundee Utd v Rangers
Now it’s back to SPFL business for the champions and this season’s title race is more important than ever as it looks like the winners will get a ticket straight to the Champions League groups next term.
Gers already hold a three-point lead over Celtic after Ange Postecoglou’s men slipped up at Tynecastle last weekend and will want to keep the pressure on their rivals by racking up another win against Dundee United today.
The bookies make Rangers red-hot favourites at a best 5/19 with SBK while United are as big as 29/2 with the same firm.
It’s hard to disagree as Tam Courts’ side were a big disappointment as they crashed 2-0 at Aberdeen in their opener.
Their game plan of containing the Dons unravelled after Jonny Hayes opened the scoring and they rarely threatened.
So a Rangers win to nil might be the shout at 20/23 with BetVictor, although United did score in two of the three meetings last term.

It ended just 2-1 at Tannadice as James Tavernier and Connor Goldson netted for Gers.
Skipper Tavernier delivered when I tipped him for an assist last week and that bet stands a good chance of landing regularly this term as he takes corners and free-kicks.
It’s 23/10 with McBookie for this one and that looks good value again as set-pieces could be crucial in this game.
Kemar Roofe returns from a Euro ban and looks the best bet for a Rangers goal. The former Leeds forward is 11/10 with Unibet for a goal after getting off the mark with the clincher against Livingston last week.
St Mirren v Hearts
The only other game today sees Hearts head to Paisley looking to build on that morale-boosting win over Celtic.
But the Jambos won’t get it easy against a Buddies side who have recruited well and began with a 2-2 draw at Dundee.
I fancy both teams to score in this one at evens with SportNation because it’s too tough to pick a winner.
Alan Power was always good value for a card in his Kilmarnock days and has collected two yellows already this term for St Mirren.
That makes the Irishman decent value to be carded at 2/1 with McBookie.
Celtic v Dundee
Celtic’s clash with Dundee is the pick of tomorrow’s action and goals look guaranteed under new boss Postecoglou.
I cashed in by backing BTTS and over 2.5 goals in the midweek Euro win over Jablonec and it could pay to revisit those bets tomorrow.

Dundee have the quality to hurt Celtic’s dodgy defence in Jason Cummings and Charlie Adam while the Hoops are looking a massive threat up front under Postecoglou.
BTTS pays 23/20 with Boylesports for this one but over 2.5 goals is just 4/7 with the same firm so you have to go to over 3.5 strikes to find value at 19/13 with SBK.
Hibs & Aberdeen Double
Hibs and Aberdeen had tough midweek matches in Europe but their fixtures aren’t too tough this weekend with Ross County heading to Easter Road and the Dons travelling to Livi.
I fancy the in-form sides to keep on rolling and a double on Hibs and Aberdeen pays just over 3/1 at McBookie.
St Johnstone v Motherwell
St Johnstone host Motherwell off the back of a brilliant Euro draw against Galatasaray and I’m betting against BTTS at 17/20 (BetVictor).
Super Singles
- James Tavernier assist (23/10, McBookie)
- Alan Power to be carded (2/1, McBookie)
Deadly Double
- Aberdeen and Hibs to win (3/1, McBookie)
