THE Championship title race looks set to be a thriller with just three points separating the top six heading into the latest round of fixtures.
While Dundee, Inverness and Partick were expected to be in the title mix, few people thought Ayr would be flying high.
But the Honest Men battered fellow surprise package Queen’s Park 5-0 last week and head to Dens Park today sitting three points ahead of Gary Bowyer’s Dark Blues.
It ended 3-1 to Ayr when these sides met at Somerset Park back in August and Dundee just couldn’t handle Dipo Akinyemi.
The big striker also bagged a hat-trick last weekend so looks terrific value at 9/4 with McBookie for a goal today.
There should be action at both ends and over 2.5 goals looks good for accas at 17/20 with BetVictor.
Partick’s form has dipped a little, with just one win in four games, but the Jags will fancy their chances away to struggling Hamilton.
Accies were battered 5-0 by Morton last weekend and have taken just a point from their last four games.
So Thistle look good value at 23/20 (Betway) to pile on the pain for John Rankin.
Inverness are the form team in the Championship with four successive wins.
They’ve ground out 1-0 wins over Ayr and Partick in their last two games and now face another stiff test away to improving Cove.
The League One champs are unbeaten in their last three at home and crushed Dundee 3-1 when the Dark Blues came calling.
I can see it being close and the half-time draw appeals at 11/10 (McBookie).
Morton have fired themselves up the table with successive wins over Queen’s Park and Hamilton.
After smashing Accies for five they will be full of confidence for the visit of Raith Rovers today.
Robbie Muirhead is in hot form for Ton with four goals in his last three games and I fancy him for anytime scorer today at 11/4 with Bet365.
There’s a top-of-the-table clash in League One as leaders FC Edinburgh head to East End Park to face a Dunfermline side who are still unbeaten in the league.
I’m surprised to see the Pars a best 4/7 at Bet365 with Edinburgh as big as 9/2 with 888Sport.
Both teams have been scoring freely so I’m going for over 2.5 goals at a best 10/11 with SBK.
Kane Hester’s incredible League Two scoring run ended when he drew a blank for Elgin at home to Albion Rovers in midweek.
But the hitman still has 15 goals to his name so looks overpriced at 11/8 with McBookie to score against struggling Forfar.
- Super Singles
- Akinyemi to score (9/4, McBookie)
- Partick to win (23/20, Betway)
- Half-time draw at Cove (11/10, McBookie)
- Hester to score (11/8, McBookie).
- McBookie bet builder: Combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals in Dunfermline pays 128/100.
