PORTO bagged the Portuguese title for the first time in five years last season and will be intent to start their defence of the crown in style tonight.
They kick off at the fortress Estadio Dragao where they shipped just 10 goals in 17 games in their title-winning charge. The opening-day visitors are a Chaves side who finished a creditable sixth last term but have endured a tough summer, failing to score in four successive friendlies and their first cup tie.
Their record against Porto is abysmal, losing the last six meetings while mustering just one goal, so I like the look of BetVictor's home win to nil at 5-6.
Another one-sided head-to-head record can be found in the Dutch top flight where PSV have come to love beating Utrecht. Champs PSV, with new boss Mark van Bommel at the helm tonight, have won the last 11 league games between the sides and all but two have gone over 2.5 goals. Same again attracts at 19-20 with Ladbrokes.
Complete the treble in Belgium with Zulte at home to pointless Eupen. Zulte have drawn both league outings so far but can bag their first victory against a team thumped 4-1 and 5-2 and who've lost seven in a row to today's hosts.
Euro Treble
- Zulte win & over 1.5 goals (7pm)
- PSV win & over 2.5 goals (7.45pm)
- Porto win to nil (9pm)
- (4-1, Ladbrokes)
