Partick Thistle will be aiming to make a winning start in Scottish League Cup Group G when they meet Montrose on Saturday.
The Jags finished top of their League Cup section last season and they will be hoping for more of the same this time around.
As for Montrose, they will be aiming to mount another promotion play-off push in Scottish League One after coming up short against Inverness at the semi-final stage in May.
Kris Doolan’s hosts were only outscored by eventual title winners Dundee United in last season’s Scottish Championship and a couple of strikes should be within range for the Jags against their Angus guests.
Aberdeen to Score 2+
The Dons performed well below expectations last season and they will be hoping their latest boss can break the trend of managerial casualties at Pittodrie in recent years.
Scottish League One outfit Queen of the South are also under new management after parting company with Marvin Batley and bringing in Peter Murphy.
The Doonhamers have done some shrewd summer business so Aberdeen may need to score a couple of goals to claim all three points.
