WEST HAM UNITED will be looking to exact revenge on Olympiakos when the pair reconvene at the London Stadium on Thursday night.
The Hammers crashed to their first European defeat since May 2022 when going down 2-1 in the reverse fixture in Greece a fortnight ago.
Despite that setback, David Moyes’ men remain top of Group A, meaning their destiny is still in their own hands.
Last time out, West Ham suffered a third straight Premier League defeat when losing 3-2 at London rivals Brentford.
Opposing outfit Olympiakos will also enter this contest off the back of a defeat after losing 4-2 at home to PAOK on Sunday.
However, that is unlikely to dampen the spirits of the Greek giants too much given that a win here would see them leapfrog the Londoners in the Group A standings.
Outright Betting
West Ham are odds on 4/6 favourites with Bet 365 to get back up and running on Thursday night.
Despite turning the Hammers over two weeks ago, Olympiakos go into this game as 15/4 (Bet 365) outsiders while the draw can be backed at 3/1 (Bet 365) with the same firm.
Betting Angles
West Ham are difficult to trust at lowly odds-on quotes here so I’m going to bypass the 1×2 betting and instead combine Both Teams to Score and Over 2 West Ham corners at 4/5 (Bet 365).
After making an encouraging start to the season, the Hammers’ form has dipped of late, with David Moyes’ men losing four of their last five matches across all competitions.
The capital club failed to keep their sheets clean in each of those five fixtures, not to mention their only shutouts in 16 outings this season have come against Sheffield United and Lincoln respectively.
What’s more, both teams have scored in a sizable 13 of those 16 contests, so there is plenty of scope for Olympiakos to get in on the act at the London Stadium.
However, at the other end of the park, the Greeks could struggle to keep the back door shut against a West Ham team that have fired just one blank in 16 matches this term.
It’s also worth pointing out that visitors have shipped six goals across their opening three Group A assignments, with BTTS banking on each of those occasions.
With that in mind, I’ll back both teams to oblige in east London, but to round off the 4/5 (Bet 365)Bet Builder, I’ll go with a minimum of three West Ham corners.
David Moyes' men have earned at least three flag kicks in every match they have played in this season and that trend should continue against their Greek guests.
After picking up a card in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago, I’ll also back Mady Camara go into the book again here at 13/5 (Bet 365).
The Guinean midfielder has clocked up six bookings in 17 appearances this season so he could be worth a small investment to land himself in more trouble at the London Stadium.
