West Ham United vs Everton

, KO: 14:00 Apr 3, 2022, London Stadium
Everton

WEST HAM UNITED will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they entertain Everton at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers' top four hopes are hanging by a thread following a 3-1 defeat at fierce foes Tottenham a fortnight ago.

That bruising London derby setback has left David Moyes' men sitting in seventh place, six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, who have played two games fewer.

As such, West Ham haven’t got much room for error if they are going to sustain a top four challenge but they can give themselves hope by defeating Everton in east London on Sunday.

The Blues boosted their survival hopes with a last-gasp 1-0 win over Newcastle, but their overall form is still that of a team set for a relegation battle.

Frank Lampard's side came crashing back down to earth with a bump before the international break when losing 4-0 at Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

Outright Betting

West Ham, who are unbeaten in five of their last six Premier League home games, head into this game as 3/4 (SBK) favourites.

Everton hold the worst away record in the Premier League this season and that is reflected in the odds, with a Toffees triumph trading at 19/5 (SBK) while a share of the spoils has been chalked up at 29/10 (SBK).

Betting Angles

West Ham look a bit too short to side with at the aforementioned odds but we can get some 17/20 (BetVictor) on the Hammers scoring two or more goals and that looks like a worthy boost in price.

As already mentioned, David Moyes' men have avoided defeat in five of their last six Premier League games at the London Stadium, not to mention they boast the fifth-best home record in the top-flight this term.

What's more, West Ham have scored a minimum of two goals in eight of their 15 (53%) Premier League home matches this season and they possess some excellent attacking players that have the technical tools to create opportunities against the travel-sick Toffees.

Unsurprisingly with such a woeful defensive record, Everton have picked up a league-low six points from a possible 39 on the road this season so far.

It's also worth pointing out that Frank Lampard's team have failed to shutout their opponents in all but one of their away games this term, with the Blues bagging a mere five clean sheets in 27 of their overall attempts to date.

With this in mind, coupled with the fact that Everton have shipped 2+ goals in 9/13 (69%) league matches away from Goodison Park, I'm more than happy to side with West Ham to strike twice at 17/20 (Bet Victor).

Elsewhere, I'll also head to the player card market and take the 13/2 available with UniBet for West Ham's Aaron Cresswell to be carded.

Whilst the Hammers left-back has been booked just once in the Premier League this season, it could pay to go against the grain here given that his direct opponent is likely to be Anthony Gordon, who's direct running style has been causing opposition defenders all sorts of problems in recent weeks.
