WALES made a winning start to their Nations League campaign and they will now be targeting back-to-back wins when they face Bulgaria at the Cardiff City Stadium.
A late winner from Kieffer Moore saw Wales edge out Finland in Helsinki on Thursday night and the Dragons will be looking to assert their authority in Group B4 on Sunday afternoon.
Following Thursday night's success in Finland, Wales have now avoided defeat in each of their last seven international assignments.
Ryan Giggs' men have already stamped their ticket to next Summer's rescheduled European Championships and they have now started to build on their successful qualifying campaign.
Bulgaria, meanwhile, suffered a late setback on Thursday night when a last-gasp Shane Duffy goal denied them all three points against the Republic of Ireland in Sofia.
The Bulgarians managed to win just one of their Euro 2020 qualifiers, however, there have been some marked signs of improvement since new boss Georgi Dermendzhiev took the reins last November.
Outright Betting
Wales have avoided defeat in each of their last five home matches and a home success is heavily fancied on Sunday at a best 1/2 with William Hill.
Bulgaria have won only one of their last 15 international fixtures and that wretched run sees the visitors go into this clash as big underdogs at 6/1 with Bet 365, while the draw is also deemed improbable at 14/5 with the same firm.
Betting Angles
Goals were in short supply during the opening night of the Nations League and I suspect another low-scoring affair could be in store at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
All but two of Wales' last 10 international outings have produced under 2.5 goals and four of Bulgaria's last five fixtures have featured less than three strikes.
A repeat this weekend is currently trading at 3/4 with Betway, however, I'm going to opt for an alternative angle with the view to nudging up the price whilst opposing goals in the Welsh capital.
The combination that has caught my eye is Wales double chance and under three match goals which will give us a nice looking 10/11 (Bet 365) shot when making use of Bet 365's Bet Builder feature.
Taking the above-mentioned approach would have banked profit in each of Wales' last six matches and I'm happy to side with a repeat this weekend given that the last four meetings between these two nations have produced a mere three goals.
In considering who may get on the scoresheet, value could lie with Wales talisman Gareth Bale who is priced up at 21/20 with BetVictor to score anytime on Sunday.
Indeed, Bale was hooked at half time in Helsinki, however, Wales boss Ryan Giggs confirmed afterwards that was always his intention with the view to preserving Bale for this bout with Bulgaria.
With Bale expected to get more game time this weekend coupled with the fact that the Welsh wizard has notched in two of his last three appearances at this venue, I like the look of backing Bale to make the net bulge at 21/20 with BetVictor.
