Verona vs Juventus

, KO: 17:00 , Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi
Juventus

Three rounds in and Juventus have made it clear that they will be fighting for the title this season. Will they make it four in four when they travel to Verona this Saturday?

After narrowly escaping relegation last season, Verona are back in the trenches without a win after three rounds. The Mastiffs lost only once but showed nothing in their draws with Udinese and Cremonese either. Paolo Zanetti’s men have a lot to worry about, as they achieved only one home win in 2025, and changing these stats feels unlikely this week.

Juventus made the front pages twice in a week, after coming from behind to beat Inter 4-3 in added time, and then scoring twice in added time against Borussia Dortmund to make it 4-4. Igor Tudor’s Juventus is a work in progress but the mentality of the team is on a whole different level. As long as they find a solution for the defensive problems, Juventus will be one of the main contenders to win the title.

How the bookies view it: They all look at Juventus

Bookmakers lean heavily towards Juventus, to the point that the odds are surprisingly low. Juventus are the absolute favourites, but we didn’t expect 11/20 for the win. As a comparison, you can back Verona at 11/2 or the draw at 29/10.

Recent head-to-head: Juve won both H2Hs last season

It was hardly ever easy to beat Verona at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, but Juventus managed to do it almost every time in recent years. The same match last season ended in a 3-0 win for the Old Lady, while the reverse fixture was a 2-0. Overall, Juventus won four of the last five encounters, with the exception being a 2-2 draw.

Players to watch: Yildiz is unbelievable

We trusted Kenan Yildiz against Borussia Dortmund and he didn’t disappoint. We plan to back him again in this tough away game, as he has been Juventus’ most impactful player since the start of the season. Dusan Vlahovic is also a solid pick, but we choose Yildiz for his playmaking abilities. With two goals and four assists in four appearances this season, Betano’s 3/2 for him to score or assist feels like a steal.

Probable line-ups

Verona: Montipo, Bella-Kotchap, Nelsson, Nunez, Belghali, Serdar, Bradaric, Akpro, Bernede, Giovane, Sarr

Juventus: Di Gregorio, Gatti, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiasso, Thuram, Locatelli, Koopmeiners, Kalulu, David, Yildiz

Anything else catch the eye?

While most of the recent H2Hs produced low scorelines, we expect more from Juventus this time. Igor Tudor has turned them into a goalscoring machine and to be fair, Verona will be the weakest side among the teams they’ve already faced this season.

We could see a goal from the hosts, particularly because Juventus have some defensive issues to fix, but we expect the Old Lady to make it four wins in four games and remain neck to neck with Napoli. If they want to fight for the title this season, they can’t afford mistakes against teams from the bottom of the table.
