THE final Copa America quarter-final is a blockbuster affair between Uruguay and Brazil at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The stadium and city is the perfect setting for what is a high-stakes match between two teams who will fancy winning the entire competition should they come through this one.
Uruguay have arguably been the most impressive team at the tournament so far, winning three out of three matches and scoring nine goals in the process.
Brazil, meanwhile, have only managed to win one of their three matches and stumbled to draws with Costa Rica and Colombia in the other two.
How the bookies view it: Brazil edge it
Despite Uruguay's impressive form at Copa America, Brazil are considered the favourite for this quarter-final with the bookies. A Brazil victory inside 90 minutes has been priced at 6/4 with Betfred while a Uruguay victory has been priced at 7/4. A draw, and therefore extra time, is considered almost as likely at 2/1.
Recent head-to-head: A streak recently broken
Brazil vs Uruguay is a fixture steeped in history with the upcoming match set to be their 80th meeting. Unsurprisingly, Brazil have the better of the overall H2H record and until October 2023, they boasted a 12-match unbeaten run over Uruguay. Marcelo Bielsa orchestrated the 2-0 win over Brazil nine months ago and he remains in the Uruguay dugout for this one.
Players to watch: The Darwin Nunez show
Uruguay have been blessed with exciting forwards over the past couple of decades and in Darwin Nunez, they have another. Interestingly, they possess a version of Darwin Nunez that will be alien to Liverpool fans. He is cold, clinical and ruthless in front of goal and has scored ten goals in his last eight appearances for the national team.
Nunez has scored twice at the tournament so far and will be fully unleashed after escaping suspension in the final group game despite being one booking away. The Liverpool forward scored the opener the last time these two sides met so will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet.
Brazil, meanwhile, will be leaning on Raphinha for some flair at the top of the pitch. The Barcelona winger scored their only goal against Colombia in their final group match so will come into this with a spring in his step.
Predicted lineups
Uruguay boss, Marcelo Bielsa, has picked ten of the same eleven players in all three matches at the Copa America and the same starting XI in the most recent two. Given their strong performances, he has no reason to change anything here.
Brazil, however, have a serious problem on their hands. Star man, Vincius Jr, will miss the match due to picking up two yellow cards in the group stages. Teenager, Endrick, could come in to replace him.
Uruguay: Rochet – Nandez, Araujo, Olivera, Vina – Valverde, Ugarte, De La Cruz – Pellistri, Nunez, Araujo
Brazil: Alisson – Danilo, Militao, Marquinhos, Wendell – Gomes, Guimaraes, Paqueta – Rodrygo, Endrick, Raphinha
Anything else catch the eye?
Uruguay have been the entertainers at the Copa America, scoring nine goals and conceding two in three matches. Brazil haven't been anywhere near as exciting but their best hope of beating them on Sunday could be to meet fire with fire. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 11/8 with Betfred.
