Players to watch: Kvaratskhelia a constant threat for Georgia
Exciting young forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is Georgia's big star and can be a handful for any defence. The Napoli star averages just under a goal every other game for his country, and will likely be at the heart of everything good from Georgia on the counter-attack.
For Ukraine, their pace is going to come from Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk who arguably isn’t the greatest finisher, and worth avoiding in the goalscorer markets with just 2 in 24 appearances for his country. Ukraine are not a team in any great form at the moment with just one win recorded in their last five matches (D1 L3), banking one clean sheet in that sequence. So they are on shaky ground currently and have shipped five goals in total in their Nations League losses against Albania and Czechia. Over 2.5 goals at 11/10 may be worth a look in this one, as that’s happened in five of Ukraine’s last six matches.
Georgia have won three of their last four matches in all competitions, including that famous 2-0 win over Portugal at Euro 2024. To put their form into context, they opened their Nations League account with a thumping 4-1 win over Czechia, who then went on to beat Ukraine. To further support the expectancy of goals, two of Georgia's last three have gone over 4.5 goals.
Georgia are not going to be a pushover in this one as they have a bit of momentum, and they would be happy enough getting out of this fixture with a point, as they still have to meet Ukraine back on home turf.
