Sassuolo go in search of their first win since October as they host Lazio in a Serie A fixture on Sunday. Lazio have also not been at their best since the restart but will be confident of getting the better of a Sassuolo side that have problems all over the pitch.
Sassuolo are coming off a 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina in their previous Serie A fixture. They appeared to be holding on for a point in Florence following Domenico Berardi second half equaliser but conceded the winner in added time.
That result means Sassuolo are now winless in their last six Serie A matches, suffering five defeats in that run. Alessio Dionisi’s men have been on a steady decline down the table and are now 16th, seven points off the relegation places.
One positive for Sassuolo is that they have looked a bit more fluid in attack since the return of Domenico Berardi. However, things are still the same at the other end of the pitch as they are without a clean sheet in their last nine Serie A matches.
Lazio head into Sunday’s clash off the back of a 2-2 draw with Empoli in their previous Serie A fixture. They raced to a two goal lead thanks to Felipe Anderson and Mattia Zaccagni but were unable to hold out for the win.
