Rosenborg are short of confidence as they prepare to host HamKam in the Eliteserian on Sunday afternoon, having failed to win any of their previous five games in all competitions.
Three of those have also resulted in defeat, including a disappointing 2-0 loss at Sandefjord last time out. That allowed their opponents to close the gap in the table to them to just two points, with Rosenborg currently in fourth place at the time of writing.
HamKam are doing much worse though in 13th spot, and are only one place and a singular point above the relegation play-off spot at the time of writing. They are now winless in three league matches having picked up a 1-1 draw at home to Brann last time out, but at least have only lost once in that time.
Recent H2Hs bode well for Rosenborg, who have won three of the previous four meetings to-nil. However, their poor run of form of late means that they should not expect it to be entirely straightforward against HamKam.
How the bookies view it: Rosenborg odds-on favourites
Perhaps unsurprisingly given their superior league position and recent H2H record, Rosenborg have been installed as 4/9 odds-on favourites to claim what will feel like a much-needed three points on home soil. A draw is rated at having 10/3 odds according to the same bookmaker, while a HamKam victory away from home is priced out as far as 5/1.
Recent head-to-head: Rosenborg win on their travels
These two teams last met in November, where Rosenborg won 2-0 away from home. Both Ole Saeter and Marius Broholm got two early goals for the visitors in the third and sixth minutes respectively.
Players to watch: Islamovic filling Nypan's boots
Sverre Nypan has not played for Rosenborg since May amid a proposed move to Premier League giants Manchester City, and so Dino Islamovic has been playing in his place. He boasts three goals to his name so far this season.
Moses Mawa also has three goals to his name for HamKam, which is more impressive considering that he plays in an inferior side
Predicted lineups
As mentioned, Nypan is expected to miss out again for Rosenborg.
Both Markus Johnsgard and Rodolen Opsahl are likely to miss out for HamKam due to fitness issues.
Rosenborg: Tangvik; Sletsjoe, Ceide, Jenssen, Mortensen; Vaananen, Selnaes, Fossum; Reitan Sunde, Islamovic, Ceide.
HamKam: Sandberg; Bjarnason, Mares, Sjolstad; Nilsen, Simenstad, Roaldsoy, Soras, Ekeroth; Mawa, Lien.
Anything else catch the eye?
With Rosenborg in poor form but expected to win, a combo of them to win and Both Teams To Score (BTTS) at 21/10 odds with BoyleSports could pay out nicely.
Like what has happened in the previous three H2Hs, we could also see the most goals scored in the first half, and that can be backed at the same price with the same bookmaker.
Those meetings have also been fairly low-scoring in general, with just six scored in total at an average of just two per match. Under 2.5 total goals is priced at a generous 11/10 with BoyleSports.
