REAL MADRID topped La Liga briefly anyway with a bloodless win against Cadiz in midweek and they are expected to keep up the pressure on city rivals Atletico by being too strong for Real Betis on Saturday night too.
Madrid got back to winning ways in midweek after two goalless draws in a row against Liverpool in the Champions League and then against Getafe.
Betis themselves are on a decent run, although they shared the spoils in too many of them – their midweek goalless draw against Athletic Bilbao was their fourth draw in a row. They've only lost twice in all competitions this year to Barcelona and Sevilla and will give Madrid a test for sure.
With Atletico Madrid going back to the top of table after defeating struggling Huesca, Real are three points behind with just six league games for them to go and daren't slip up.
How the bookies view it
Real Madrid are always going to be favourites particularly at home and are 1/2 with Betfred. Manuel Pellegrini's side are 565/100 with Tonybet and the draw is 16/5 with William Hill's.
Recent head to heads
Madrid required a late Sergio Ramos penalty to win in Seville in September earlier this season in a 3-2 victory at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. Curiously, though, Betis boast a terrific record away in Madrid – they are unbeaten on their last three meetings with Real in the Spanish capital and the hosts have even failed to score in those games.
Players to watch
Karim Benzema is arguably in the form of his life at the moment and he helped himself to another double in midweek at Cadiz. He's now on ten goals in his last 11 games for Madrid. He's very short at 8/11 to be an anytime goalscorer, but the 11/4 from bet365 for him to be first scorer could represent value.
Borja Iglesias has been part of the recent good form of Betis and the Spanish striker has netted eight goals in his last nine games for Betis. He's 11/4 with bet365 to score in Madrid.
Anything else catch the eye?
Real Madrid are the second best side in the table at being ahead at half time and with the general 1/2 for a home win offering not much value, the 13/10 with SportNation for a half time and full time win is worth a shout.
Betis aren't the best travellers having lost seven of their 15 games away from Seville this season. Having said that, they don't suffer many batterings and when they lose it tends to be by one goal as their last three defeats have been.
Bet365's winning margin for the hosts of one goal at 13/5 should be a runner.
