IT was all change at Ibrox during the international break and new manager Philippe Clement will be looking to get his Rangers reign off to a flying start when they host Hibernian in the SPFL Premiership.
But it's a tricky opener for the Belgian as Hibs have been a team transformed since appointing their own new manager, with Nick Montgomery still unbeaten five games into his reign.
Clement has some work to do if he's to salvage Rangers' title bid as he takes over a team trailing rivals Celtic by seven points after a disastrous summer rebuild by Michael Beale.
The former Club Brugge and Monaco boss has a track record that suggests he could be a shrewd appointment if the Ibrox board give him the time and funds to build a competitive team.
But he has inherited a lopsided squad, with Beale stockpiling creative midfielders while neglecting an ageing defence, and Hibs will fancy their chances of getting something from Ibrox.
The revival under Montgomery continued before the international break as Hibernian came from 2-0 down at Tynecastle to salvage a point, leaving me to curse going for the half-time draw instead of the full-time stalemate.
A leaky defence remains the biggest issue at Easter Road but with an attack boasting Dylan Vente, Elie Youan and Martin Boyle, the Hibees have enough firepower to shoot down any team in Scotland if they hit top form.
How the bookies view it
Despite Rangers losing their last game at Ibrox to Aberdeen, the bookies fancy Clement's arrival to give them a boost as they're just 2/5 at Unibet for the win. Hibernian are as big as 7/1 at Coral while the draw pays 4/1 with StarSports.
Recent head to head
Hibernian held Rangers to a 2-2 draw in the first meeting of these sides last season but the Ibrox side then rattled off three successive victories. You have to go back to 2018 for the last Hibs win at Ibrox, with John McGinn one of the scorers in a 2-1 victory.
Players to watch
Few of Rangers' summer recruits have impressed but Abdallah Sima has caught the eye of late with five goals in his last six outings. The Brighton loanee should start here and he's 13/8 at BetVictor for anytime scorer.
Martin Boyle memorably scored a hat-trick when Hibs beat Rangers 3-1 in the League Cup semi-final two years ago. The winger also netted in that 2-2 draw last term and could get some joy down the right. Boyle is 9/2 with William Hill for anytime scorer but it might be better backing him for an assist once that market is priced up.
Anything else catch the eye?
Both teams have looked far from convincing at the back so far this season and that should lead to a few thrills. BTTS looks good at 20/23 with Betfair while over 3.5 strikes is 6/4 with Bet365. Over 1.5 first-half goals also stands a chance at 29/20 with Coral.
There's plenty of width in both squads so we could also see a few corners. Bet365 price over 10 flag kicks at 5/6 but I'm more drawn to Rangers -3 in the corner handicap at evens with the same firm as they should have most of the pressure.
Cards often rack up in this fixture as well, although things are likely to calm down a bit after Ryan Porteous' move from Hibs to Watford. The stopper was always a stick-on for a card against Rangers but in his absence Hibs midfielder Joe Newell looks the best option at 11/8 with Bet365.
