Hibs face a frightening trip to the Gravediggers on Thursday in the Europa Conference League when they face Partizan Belgrade in Serbia in the third qualifying round.

The Easter Road were desperately unlucky not to take Danish side FC Midtjylland to penalties in their Europa League tie after drawing away from home and then losing in the last minute of extra time to a wonder strike by a Brazilian.

Their ‘reward' is a game against a team with some of the most notorious fans in Europe when they face Partizan.

Like Hibs they have started their season and, like Hibs, they have also been in Europe this season and have in fact played two ties.

They got knocked out of the Europa League by Cypriot side AEK Larnaca after a penalty shootout, but made light work of Ukrainian side Oleksandriya by hammering them 6-0 on aggregate.

Both sides were in league action on Sunday with Hibs edging out Dundee with a 2-1 win at Dens Park to get their Premiership campaign off to a fine start.

And Partizan followed up their 1-0 win against Zeleznicar Pancevo with a xxx

How the bookies view it: Partizan solid favourites

Partizan's home advantage have tempted Boylesports into making the hosts odds-on favourites at 20/21 with Hibs 12/5 and the draw 11/5 with the same firm.

Recent head to heads: First ever meeting

The sides have never met before.

Players to watch: Bowie the Star Man

Kieran Bowie will be a big player for Hibs this season and helped himself to a double against Dundee on Sunday. The newly-capped Scotland international is 5/2 to score anytime with Paddy Power.

Partizan are pinning their hopes on Jovan Milosevic, who is on loan from Stuttgart. He netted a brilliant hat trick in their last European game against Oleksandriya and is 13/8 with Paddy Power.

Predicted line-ups:

Partizan Belgrade are without injured duo Ibrahim Zubairu and Mateja Milovanovic

Hibs go into the game minus club captain Joe Newell and Nicky Cadden is a doubt with a hamstring strain.

Partizan Belgrade: M Milosevic, Roganovic, Djurdjevic, Simic, Stojkovic, Dragoevic, Karabeljov, Ugresic, B Kostic, J Milosevic, Trifunovic

Hibs: Smith, Iredale, Bushiri, O'Hora, C Cadden, Mulligan, Levitt, Obita, McGrath, Bowie, Boyle.

Anything else catch the eye?

Hibs will go into the cauldron here with Partizan attracting 27,757 to the last round and a sizzling, intimidating atmosphere absolutely guaranteed.

But it's maybe not the much-feared Partizan of old that Hibs will face.

They finished 27 points off champions and rivals Red Star last season and prior to a 2-1 win against AEK Larnaca in a tie where they went out this season, they lost seven of their last eight games in Europe.

Last season they lost 9-2 on aggregate to Dynamo Kyiv and the season before 6-0 to Nordsjaelland both on aggregate.

So if Hibs can overcome the atmosphere, there's nothing to be afraid of and are worth backing on the double chance to win or either draw at 3/4 with Boylesports.

Hibs look a very decent outfit this season and will always create chances. They also have plenty of options off the bench now. Back both teams to score at 20/23 with Boylesports.
