ENGLAND will endeavour to make it three wins from three in Euro 2024 qualifying when they meet Malta at Ta' Qali National Stadium on Friday night.
Gareth Southgate's side showed brilliant attitude to bounce back from their World Cup 2022 exit with a 2-1 win over Italy in their Group C curtain-raiser back in March.
The Three Lions followed up and that success with a 2-0 win over Ukraine at Wembley just three days later, on a night where our man Kevin Mac cashed in.
That pair of victories has put England top of the pile and they will fancy their chances of strengthening their grip at the summit when they make the trip to Malta.
Michele Marcolini's minnows are propping up the section after two rounds of fixtures having lost to both North Macedonia and Italy.
The hosts did manage to land a rare win over Luxembourg in a friendly outing last weekend, though it would be fair to say they will be in for a much sterner test against the fifth highest-ranked side in world football.
Outright Betting
Malta have fallen to defeat in each of their previous three meetings with England and the bookmakers' odds unsurprisingly suggest that trend will continue, with a home win trading at a towering 75/1 (PaddyPower) while the draw is as big as 16/1 (Unibet).
As already mentioned, England have won each of their two Group C matches so far and the Three Lions are heavily fancied to maintain their 100% record at a lowly 1/22 (Ladbrokes).
Betting Angles
It goes without saying that England are far too short to side here so I'll instead bundle up Harry Kane to Score and Both Teams to Score No to give us backable 4/5 (Bet 365) shot.
Fresh off the back of equalling his best-ever Premier League scoring season by racking up 30 strikes, the England skipper should be brimming with confidence ahead of his return to the international stage.
What's more, Kane became England's rerecord goalscorer when he notched in the aforementioned 2-1 win over Italy earlier this year before striking in the subsequent fixture against Ukraine.
In fact, the England talisman has made the net bulge in each of his last four international outings and he looks primed to extend that sequence against lesser lights Malta.
Given that the Three Lions have built much of their success on a strong defensive foundation under Gareth Southgate's watch, I'll round off the Bet Builder by backing the visitors to keep their sheets clean.
Only France and Italy have managed to breach England's backline across their last six matches and it would come as a real surprise if lowly Malta were able to land a blow here in what is very much an international mismatch
