Los Angeles FC vs FC Dallas

, KO: 03:30 Jun 2, 2024, BMO Stadium
FC Dallas

LOS ANGELES FC are really starting to build some momentum in MLS and they will be bidding to bank another three points when they face FC Dallas at the BMO Stadium on Sunday.

Steven Cherundolo’s side stretched their winning run to four matches with a 2-0 win over Minnesota on Thursday, bringing up another trio of tips for our man Gabriel along the way.

That latest success has moved the Black and Gold up into third position in the Western Conference, just three points adrift of table-topping Real Salt Lake.

Back at their LA base again this weekend, the high-flying hosts will look to put another win on the board at the expense of Dallas.

Nico Estévez’s side have already tasted defeat in Los Angeles this week, having crashed to a 3-1 loss at LA Galaxy on Thursday.

As such, the Toros are now languishing down in 12th spot, a mere two points above the foot of the table.

How the bookies view it: Black and Gold big favourites

Los Angeles are heavy 1/3 favourites on Bet 365 to make it five wins in succession in MLS.

FC Dallas, who have failed to win away from home in seven attempts this season, are big underdogs at 13/2 (Bet 365) while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 15/4 (Bet 365).

Head to head: Home comfort is key

Home wins have been a recurring theme when these two teams have gone toe-to-toe in recent years , with Los Angeles coming out on top in each of the last two corresponding fixtures, while Dallas have ran out winners in the previous two reverse meetings at the Toyota Stadium.

Players to watch: Denis to down Dallas?

Denis Bouanga took his tally for the season to nine when notching against Minnesota last time out. The Los Angeles attacker is a backable 4/5 on Bet 365 to do more damage this weekend against Dallas.

The struggling visitors will look to their top-scorer Petar Musa for inspiration. The Croatian frontman has found the back of the net in four of his last seven MLS outings.

Predicted line-ups

Los Angeles boss Steven Cherundolo could be without up to four first team players, though Eduard Atuesta is available again after missing out on Thursday due to a suspension.

FC Dallas are still unable to call upon the services of long-term casualties Alan Velasco and Geovane Jesus.

Los Angeles FC: Lloris; Murillo, Chanot, Long; Palencia, Tillman, Duenas, Campos; Olivera, Bogusz, Bouanga

FC Dallas: Paes; Ibeagha, Tafari, Junqua; Twumasi, Fraser, Illarramendi, Farfan; Arriola, Delgado; Musa

Anything else catch the eye?

Los Angeles FC are worthy favourites here, but I’m prepared to go against the grain to a degree by backing both teams to score at 19/20  on Bet 365.

While the Black and Gold have managed to keep the back door shut in each of their last four matches, they will be coming up against a Dallas side that carry plenty of attacking threat.

That is evidenced by the fact that the Toros have struck in 12 of their 14 MLS outings this term to date.

It’s also worth noting that BTTS has landed in 11 of those 14 Dallas matches, giving us a great value option for siding with the same selection at 19/20 (Bet 365) on Sunday.
