NAPOLI have been the standout team of this season's Champions League and will fancy their chances of completing a perfect group campaign against a Liverpool side in worrying form.
Luciano Spalletti's side made the whole of Europe sit up and take notice by routing the Reds 4-1 on Matchday One and they haven't taken their foot of the gas since, scoring three or more in every game as they ripped Rangers and Ajax apart.
Napoli have yet to lose a game this season, going 17 matches unbeaten, and a 4-0 thrashing of Sassuolo at the weekend made it 13 successive victories.
Spalletti will be looking for another statement performance at Anfield but his side only need to avoid a heavy defeat to finish top of the pile. Liverpool need a four-goal win to knock them off the summit yet it's difficult to see this Napoli side sitting back as they have been exhilarating to watch in most of their games this season.
The same can't be said for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's men head into this game with morale low after successive Premier League defeats to lowly Nottingham Forest and Leeds.
They sit a whopping 15 points behind leaders Arsenal already and if their dismal league form continues, Liverpool's best hope of qualifying for the Champions League might be winning this season's tournament.
Since that rout in Naples, their Champions League form has been good, with four successive wins sealing their place in the last 16. Now it's a question of revenge at Anfield as the Reds look to end Napoli's remarkable run.
How the bookies view it
I'm surprised to see Liverpool odds-on for this one and their best price is just 13/15 at SBK. The bookies may regret having Napoli as big as 16/5 (William Hill) while the draw pays 10/3 at VBet.
Head to head
That victory in the first group game just edged Napoli ahead in their jousts with Liverpool. They've now won three of the seven meetings but none of those victories came at Anfield. Liverpool have beaten the Italians twice at home and it ended 1-1 when Napoli last came calling in 2019.
Players to watch
Mo Salah seems to have rediscovered his scoring touch for the Reds with six goals in his last six appearances. The Egyptian is 11/8 with Bet365 for anytime scorer and that looks decent value.
Victor Osimhen heads to Anfield with his confidence soaring after a weekend hat-trick but Spalletti may not start him given the striker's struggles with injury this season. Giacomo Raspadori has been a regular starter in the European games and could be unleashed here after a weekend cameo off the bench. The Italian international is 3/1 with Unibet for anytime scorer.
Anything else catch the eye?
Going for goals paid off for me when these teams faced off in Naples and it should be another game with Liverpool needing to go for a big win. But BTTS is a tiny 4/7 at SBK and you have to go to over 3.5 goals to get to 11/8 with BetVictor. Over 1.5 first-half goals landed for me in Naples and that bet pays 27/20 at Ladbrokes here.
Napoli could get some joy against that leaky Liverpool defence if they decide to have a go as usual. They appeal in the double chance market at 21/20 with Unibet while over 1.5 Napoli goals is 33/20 with the same firm.
Liverpool play a high line and Napoli will look to hit on the break so it could lead to a few offsides. Unibet are offering 6/5 on over 2.5 Napoli offsides and that looks good while over 4.5 match offsides is the same price.
