LEICESTER CITY will be looking to get back to winning ways when they welcome West Ham United to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Foxes are still flying high in the Premier League but Brendan Rodgers men have only managed to win three of their last 10 matches across all competitions.
The King Power club suffered back-to-back top-flight defeats for the second time in the space of a month when suffering a 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor on Sunday.
In fact, Leicester's last league success came against West Ham in the capital just after Christmas – a result which finally saw the axe fall on Manuel Pellegrini.
David Moyes has since returned to the Hammers hot-seat and the Scotsman has steered the Irons to four points from a possible nine in their bid to beat the drop.
West Ham were the better team for large spells of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Everton, however, the Hammers have won only three of their 11 away matches in the Premier League this season.
The Betting Odds
West Ham are a whopping 11/2 (William Hill) to conquer the King Power and a share of the spoils is also deemed unlikely at 18/5 (William Hill) with the same firm.
A Leicester reserve side left the London Stadium with all three points in the reverse fixture and the Foxes are odds-on favourites at 8/15 (Betfred) to do the double over West Ham
The Betting Angles
Moyes has gone back to basics with the aim of making the Hammers hard to beat and I suspect that the visitors will set up to frustrate the Foxes on Wednesday night.
With that in mind, I'm going to delve into the stats market and back West Ham centre-half Issa Diop to make over one tackle at 10/11 (William Hill)
Diop and Co will have their work cut out when coming up against the likes of Jamie Vardy and James Maddison and given the fact that the towering Frenchman made nine clearances, two blocks and one tackle last time out, the 10/11 (William Hill) for Diop to make two or more tackles during this tussle takes appeal.
Staying in the stats market I'm also attracted to the 19/20 (Coral) on offer for Robert Snodgrass to have one or more shots from outside the box.
Taking this approach does not require the shot to be on target and Snodgrass is prone to having a pop form distance – the former Scotland international has taken 16 shots at goal in 17 league appearances this term.
In terms of the more traditional betting angles I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a much tighter affair than what the betting suggests as I fully expect the east Londoners to adopt a safety first approach.
Yet, I do fancy the Foxes to get back to winning ways, however, the hosts may have to be patient when trying to breakthrough what could be a compact Claret and Blue backline.
Indeed, there is little value in backing a home success at 8/15 (Betfred) , however, combing a Leicester win, over three Leicester corners and over zero West Ham cards on Bet 365's Bet Builder is much more enticing at Evens.
A third consecutive home defeat for Leicester looks unlikely here, the Foxes are fifth in the corner kicks taken chart and at least one West Ham card looks feasible – all of which adds to the appeal of backing the aforementioned combination.
