Leicester City are in desperate need of a turnaround in fortunes as they host Fulham in a Premier League fixture on Tuesday.
Leicester suffered a 2-1 defeat at Liverpool in their previous Premier League fixture. They would have been disappointed with the result having struck first through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before being let down by two own goals from Wout Faes.
Having also lost 3-0 to Newcastle United in their previous fixture, Leicester City remain in the bottom half of the table and manager Brendan Rodgers will be keen to avoid getting drawn into the relegation scrap. The good news for the Foxes is that they have done some good work at home, beating Nottingham Forest and Leeds United just before the international break.
One thing that has hampered Leicester City is their defensive vulnerability which was particularly evident in the defeats to Newcastle United and Liverpool. They also have mounting injury problems with top scorer James Maddison currently sidelined while striker Patson Daka also limped off last time out at Anfield.
Fulham travel to the King Power Stadium off the back of a 2-1 victory over Southampton in their previous Premier League fixture. They were helped on their way by an own goal from James Ward-Prowse before Joao Palhinha struck the winner two minutes from time.
That was the second straight win for Fulham, who have impressed since the restart. Marco Silva’s men are steadily cementing a place in the top half and are now up to seventh on the standings, just five points off the European places.
A slight problem for Fulham is their erratic form on the road as while they have won at Crystal Palace and Leeds United, there have also been defeats to West Ham and Manchester City. They have also struggled defensively on their travels, keeping just one clean sheet in their last eight away matches.
How the bookies view it
Despite their problems, Leicester City still have the edge among the bookies and are priced at 6/5 by bet365 to pick the win. A victory for Fulham is valued at 9/4 by Betfred while a draw is set at odds of 5/2 by BetVictor.
Head to head
Fulham have a 17-8 advantage with five draws from 30 previous matches against Leicester City. However, the Foxes have won two of the last three fixtures and claimed a 2-0 victory in the most recent meeting with the Cottagers back in 2021.
Players to watch
Patson Daka limped off last time out at Liverpool which means Jamie Vardy could get a rare start on Tuesday. The striker has two goals in his last two home matches against Fulham and could be backed to find the net at 7/4 with Unibet.
Aleksandar Mitrovic failed to get on the score sheet last time out for Fulham but remains their most dangerous attacking player. The striker has 10 Premier League goals this season and is priced at 19/12 by SBK to get on the score sheet on Tuesday.
Anything else catch the eye?
With Leicester City and Fulham unconvincing at the back, both teams could be backed to score at 8/13 with William Hill. There have been over 2.5 goals in Fulham’s last seven away matches and a repeat is priced at 3/4 with Unibet, who is also offering odds of 19/10 for over 3.5 goals.
There have been second half goals for both teams in two of Fulham’s last three matches and Tuesday’s clash could be tipped to follow a similar pattern at 15/8 with Paddy Power. The Cottagers have also opened the scoring in their last two matches and could tipped to grab the first goal at 5/4 with bet365.
