Leeds United vs Manchester United

, KO: 14:00 Feb 12, 2023, Elland Road
Manchester United

LEEDS United and Manchester United will do battle for the second time in the space of four days when the pair square off at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils had to fight back from a two-goal deficit to deny their old rivals a famous win at Old Trafford on Wednesday night as the shares were spoiled.

While the Whites will have been disappointed to have surrendered such an advantage, it did nudge them a point clear of the relegation zone.

The hosts will now hope to go one better than the point they earned in midweek when they reconvene with Manchester United on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag's team continue to occupy third place in the Premier League table, three points ahead of Newcastle and four points ahead of Tottenham in the race for Champions League qualification.

Having said that, the Red Devils have won just one of their last four league games, so they will be keen to start stringing a run of wins together when they head to West Yorkshire this weekend.

Outright Betting

A repeat of Wednesday's stalemate at Old Trafford can be backed at 29/10 (UniBet) while a Leeds victory is as big as 3/1 (UniBet) with the same firm.

Manchester United, who have earned maximum points in just two of their last six Premier League away games, enter Elland Road as 19/20 (SBK) favourites.

Betting Angles

The visitors will have their backers at the above-mentioned price but I'm going to op for an alternative angle of attack and merge Manchester United Double Chance and Over One Manchester United Goal at 20/23 (Bet 365).

Erik ten Hag and Co won't be taken this one lightly after dropping points in midweek and I suspect they will have too much firepower for Leeds to deal with.

After throwing away a two goal lead on Wednesday the Whites have now shipped 2+ strikes in 11 of their 21 league games this term, not to mention they have filed just four clean sheets all season

It's also worth pointing out that only Southampton, Bournemouth and Leicester have leaked more goals than Leeds in the Premier League this season, which doesn't bode well ahead of this weekend's return match.

Man United have notched at least twice in five of their last six league games and I fancy them to follow suit here against a Leeds side that cannot be trusted to keep the back door closed.

With this in mind, coupled with the fact this bet would have paid out in six of the Red Devils' last nine Premier League games, supporting the same formula on Sunday stands out at 20/23 (Bet 365).

After successfully backing Marcus Rashford to make the net bulge in midweek, I'll side with the United talisman to have goal involvement here again in the To Score or Assist market at 5/6 (PaddyPower).

Manchester United's man of the moment has either notched or provided a goal in 14 of his 22 Premier League appearances this season and he looks a fair bet to add to that tally at Elland Road this weekend.
