Lech Poznan vs Bodo/Glimt

, KO: 20:00 Feb 23, 2023, Stadion Poznan
Bodo/Glimt

Lech Poznan host Bodo/Glimt in second leg of their Europa Conference League knockout playoff with the tie still perfectly balanced following a stalemate in the first meeting.

Having held out for a 0-0 draw in the first meeting with Bodo/Glimt, Lech Poznan will be keen to complete the job at home. The problem is they failed to create much in that fixture, finishing without a single attempt on target.

Lech Poznan followed up that result with a surprise 2-1 home defeat to Zaglebie Lubin in a domestic fixture last Sunday. They fell two goals down early in the contest and despite pulling one back just before the break, failed to complete the comeback.

The defeat to Zaglebie Lubin highlights an erratic home record for Lech Poznan in recent weeks. John Van Den Brom’s men have claimed just two wins in their last six matches at Stadion Poznan.

While it was a game of few chances in the first meeting, Bodo/Glimt will be disappointed not to have claimed the win. They had the best of the few openings but in the end, failed to convert any of their three attempts on target.

The season is over Norway which means Bodo/Glimt have not been in action for a while domestically. They have lacked some fluidity and cohesion, particularly in attack.

However, there are still some positives as Kjetil Knutsen’s men managed to avoid defeat and are now unbeaten in six of their last seven matches across all competitions.

Bodo/Glimt were not good travellers during the group stage of the Europa League as they failed to earn a single win away from home. They only claimed one point on the road, thanks to a 1-1 draw at PSV Eindhoven back in September.

How the bookies view it

Lech Poznan have the edge among the bookies with a home win priced at 6/5 with bet365. A victory for Bodo/Glimt is valued at 23/10 with Betfred while Paddy Power is also offering odds of 23/10 for a draw.

Head to head

Last week’s clash was the first ever meeting between Lech Poznan and Bodo/Glimt.

Players to watch

Lech Poznan will be keen to tighten up at the back as they target a repeat of the shutout from the first meeting. Bartosz Salamon and Antonio Milic should continue their partnership in Central defence and can lead the hosts to another clean sheet at 21/10 with BoyleSports.

With Bodo/Glimt looking slightly off colour in attack, they will be focused more on not conceding on Thursday. Centre-backs Marius Lode and Brede Moe will be the ones to watch and can lead the visitors to a clean sheet at 3/1 with bet365.

Anything else catch the eye?

Given both teams’ desire to maintain their defensive solidity, BTTS NO could be on the cards at 11/10 with BetVictor. Lech Poznan have seen under 2.5 goals in three of their last four matches across all competitions and could be set for a repeat at 13/15 with SBK.

With another closely fought encounter expected on Thursday, a halftime draw can be considered at 6/5 with bet365.
