Juventus are seeking a fourth straight Serie A win as they travel to the Stadio Olimpico for a clash against second placed Lazio.
One of only three teams to beat Serie A leader Napoli this season, Lazio are having a fine campaign as they sit second on the standings, four points above AC Milan. Their campaign has been driven by a solid defence that has kept the most clean sheets and conceded the fewest goals in Italy’s topflight.
Things have been particularly smooth for Lazio in recent weeks as they are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches. Maurizio Sarri’s men have won five times in that run and claimed a 2-0 victory at Monza in their previous fixture.
While Lazio have been generally impressive this season, their form at the Stadio Olimpico has been slightly patchy in recent weeks. They have won five of their last 10 home matches, playing out draws with the likes of Udinese and Fiorentina and suffering a 2-0 defeat to Atalanta.
Juventus travel to the Stadio Olimpico off the back of a chaotic 1-1 draw with Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg. Goalless after 82 minutes, the clash came to life late on with Juan Cuadrado’s effort cancelled out by Romelu Lukaku before a series of red cards were shown following a late scuffle.
While the conclusion to that game was chaotic, the result means Juventus have now been beaten just once in their last 14 matches across all competitions. They earned a 1-0 victory over Verona in their previous Serie A fixture with Moise Kean’s second half effort proving the difference.
Juventus have also impressed on their recent travels, losing just two of their 10 away matches across all competitions. Massimiliano Allegri’s men have also looked solid at the back, keeping eight clean sheets in that run.
How the bookies view it
The bookies appear to be split on this one, a win for Lazio is priced at 17/10 with William Hill while a victory for Juventus is valued at 19/10 by bet365. A draw is set at odds of 2/1 by Coral.
Recent head to head
Juventus are unbeaten in the last seven matches against Lazio, claiming five wins in that run. The Turin club have already beaten Lazio twice this season, earning a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture in November before picking up a 1-0 win in the Coppa Italia in February.
Players to watch
After a spell on the sidelines with injury, Ciro Immobile could return to the starting line-up for Lazio on Saturday. The striker is still the leading scorer for the capital club with nine goals and can be tipped to get on the score sheet at 12/5 by bet365.
Juventus have multiple goal threats but Dusan Vlahovic is often the man tasked with leading the line. The Serbian striker is their top scorer this season with eight Serie A goals and is priced at 11/4 by bet365 to find the net on Saturday.
Anything else catch the eye?
While Lazio and Juventus have been solid at the back lately, they have enough attacking quality to cause each other problems. Both teams can be backed to score at 11/10 with Unibet while over 2.5 goals is valued at 6/4 with Betfred.
With a closely fought encounter expected on Saturday, a halftime draw could also be on the cards at 19/20 with Unibet.
