Juventus need to get over their recent string of draws as they host bottom side Venezia in Serie A on Saturday. The Turin club seem unable to see out games this season but should be too strong for the struggling visitors.
It has been a strange season for Juventus as they are the only unbeaten team left in Serie A after 15 games. However, nine of those 15 matches have been draws, including the 1-1 scoreline with Bologna last time out.
While the run of draws are annoying, there are still some positives for Juventus, who boast one of the best defences and have kept 10 clean sheets this season. Thiago Motta’s team also kept a clean sheet in the Champions League as they picked up a huge 2-0 victory over English champions Manchester City.
The season is not halfway through but Venezia are already looking like prime relegation candidates. They have picked up just two wins this season and are rooted to the bottom of the table, three points from safety.
Venezia came from behind to draw 2-2 with Como last time out and will look to build on the positives of that fightback. However, they have lost five of their last six away matches, failing to score in the last two in that run.
How the bookies view it: Juventus highly fancied
Despite their run of draws, Juventus are still considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies at 3/10 with BoyleSports. An unlikely victory for Venezia is valued at 15/2 while BoyleSports is offering 3/1 for a draw.
Head to head: Turin club unblemished
Juventus have never lost to Venezia, with six wins and two draws from eight previous matches. The Turin Club claimed a 2-1 win in the last meeting at Allianz Stadium back in 2022.
Players to watch: Eyes on Juventus backline
One of the positives for Juventus this season has been their defence, which has kept 10 clean sheets in 15 Serie A matches. Federico Gatti and Pierre Kalulu often get the nod at the back and can lead the hosts to another clean sheet at 3/4 with BoyleSports.
At the other end of the pitch, Juventus will be pleased to have striker Dusan Vlahovic back after a spell on the sidelines. The Serbian will be keen to add to his six Serie A goals and is priced at 5/6 by BoyleSports to get on the score sheet.
Probable line-ups
Vlahovic made his return from injury against Bologna and should lead the line once again for Juventus. Kenan Yildiz should start in attack after coming off the bench last time out.
John Yeboah and Alfred Duncan are both ruled out for Venezia through injury. Joel Pohjanpalo and Gaetano Oristanio should continue in attack while Michael Svoboda should continue at the back.
Juventus: Perrin, Cambiaso, Kalulu, Gatti, Danilo, Locatelli, Thuram, Yildiz, Koopmeiners, Conceicao, Vlahovic
Venezia: Stankovic, Idzes, Svoboda, Altare, Zampano, Nicolussi, Doumbia, Candela, Business, Oristanio, Pohjanpalo
Anything else catch the eye?
Juventus are often solid at the back and with Venezia struggling in attack, a win to nil could be on the cards at 20/21 by BoyleSports. The Turin club are likely to be dominant on Saturday and could be backed to score in both halves at 6/5 with BoyleSports.
Four of Vlahovic's six goals have been the opener and the striker could be backed to score the first goal on Saturday at 11/4 with BoyleSports.
