Juventus vs Lazio

, KO: 20:00 Feb 2, 2023, Allianz Stadium
Lazio

Juventus will be looking to snap out of a difficult patch as they host Lazio in a Coppa Italia quarter-final clash.

Juventus progressed to the Coppa Italia quarter-final after claiming a 2-1 victory over Monza in the round of 16. Moise Kean opened the scoring early in the contest while Federico Chiesa netted the winner late in the second half.

Juventus are still reeling from their 13-point deduction by the FIGC. The Turin club are winless in three of their last four matches and suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Monza in Serie A last Sunday.

Juventus are usually solid at home but the defeat to Monza shows that the morale of the players has been affected by the points deduction. Massimiliano Allegri’s men failed to build on a decent start and crumbled once the visitors took an early lead.

While some of the big guns are crumbling around them, Lazio appear to be duly taking advantage. They have risen to third in Serie A and travel to Turin with three wins and two draw from their last five matches across all competitions.

Lazio were at their best in the previous round of the Coppa Italia as they claimed a 4-0 victory over reigning Serie A champions AC Milan. However, they head into Thursday’s clash off the back of a 1-1 home draw with Fiorentina in a Serie A fixture last Saturday.

Lazio have claimed some solid results on their travels this season and will head to the Allianz Stadium with some confidence. Maurizio Sarri’s men have already claimed Serie A wins at Fiorentina, Atalanta and Roma this term and picked up a 2-0 win over Sassuolo in their previous away fixture.

How the bookies view it

Despite their recent struggles, Juventus still have the upper hand among the bookies with a home win priced at 11/10 by William Hill. A victory for Lazio is valued at 11/4 by bet365 while a draw is set at odds of 12/5 by Unibet.

Head to head

Juventus have a 39-17 advantage with 15 draws from 71 previous matches against Lazio. The Turin club also claimed a 3-0 victory when both teams met in Serie A back in November.

Players to watch

Arkadiusz Milik picked up a thigh injury in the defeat to Monza but Dusan Vlahovic made his return in that game. The Serbian striker could be worth keeping an eye on to score anytime at 15/8 with Paddy Power.

With Ciro Immobile currently in the middle of a dry spell, Mattia Zaccagni has picked up in recent weeks, scoring three goals in his last five matches. The attacker was also on target in the win over AC Milan in the previous round and is priced at 4/2 by bet365 to score anytime.

Anything else catch the eye?

There is undoubted attacking quality in both teams who are expected to score on Thursday at 10/11 with bet365. Two of the last three meetings at the Allianz Stadium have produced over 3.5 goals, which is priced at 3/1 by BetVictor while 10bet is offering 11/10 for over 2.5 goals.

Juventus have gone behind in three of their last four matches and with Lazio opening the scoring in their last five outing, the capital club could be tipped to grab the first goal at 6/4 with bet365.
