Hungary will be looking to build on their opening win in Group G of the Euro 2024 qualifiers as they host Bulgaria in Monday.
Group G of the qualifiers appears very open with at least four of the teams in with a genuine chance of clinching a ticket. Hungary have already made a fine start to the campaign as Martin Adam’s first half effort given them a 1-0 win over Estonia in their opening fixture.
That result is a continuation of Hungary’s fine form in recent times as they have suffered just one defeat in their last seven matches across all competitions. Marco Rossi’s men have claimed four wins in that run, with victories in England and Germany among their results.
Hungary’s recent record at home will also give them plenty of confidence having lost just once in their last five matches in front of their fans. They have claimed three wins in that run, including a 2-1 victory over Greece prior to edging out Estonia on Friday.
Unlike Hungary, Bulgaria did not make the best start to their qualifying campaign as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Montenegro. They saw plenty of possession and had several attempts on goal but lacked the cutting edge in attack.
While it was a disappointing outing for Bulgaria, they will be keen to put it in perspective as that was their first defeat in seven matches across all competitions. However, they have only claimed three matches in that run with the rest ending in draws.
The draws have been a problem for Bulgaria, particularly on their travels. Mladen Krstajic’s men have claimed two wins and played out three draws in their last five away matches across all competitions.

Players to watch
Martin Adam led the line for Hungary in their opening fixture and capped a fine performance with a well taken goal. The striker could be worth keeping an eye on to get on the score sheet once again at 21/10 with Paddy Power.
Kiril Despodov often carries the attacking threat for Bulgaria and will be the one to watch on Monday. The forward has six goals in his last 10 appearances for the National team and is priced at 6/1 by William Hill to find the net.
Anything else catch the eye?
Hungary and Bulgaria have some quality in attack which means both teams could be backed to score at 13/9 with SBK. Having produced over 3.5 goals in their previous meeting, a repeat could be considered at 18/5 with BetVictor, who are also offering odds of 13/10 for over 2.5 goals.
Given the minimal odds for a straight Hungary victory, a win and over 2.5 goals can be considered at 19/10 with 10bet.
