Hearts welcome St Johnstone on Wednesday with the visitors fighting for their lives and the hosts set to be under new management imminently.
The capital side are expected to approach and appoint Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes to replace Neil Critchley who was axed last month following a dismal season.
With Killie now safe, the path seems to be clear for the ex-Aberdeen and St Johnstone manger to go to Gorgie, although it's unlikely he would have any input for the remaining two games, with Hearts safe too.
Ironically, caretaker boss Liam Fox seems to have done a terrific job as is often the case with these temporary appointments and they have won both of their games with him in charge against Ross County and Motherwell and scored six in the process.
Saints gave themselves a real glimmer of hope with a massive win against Ross County at the weekend and they could even get off the bottom if they won and County lost at Dundee.
However, they could also be relegated if they lose and the Dingwall side get something at Dens Park and you would imagine the Perth side would just be delighted to take it to the final day.
