Everton are in search of a positive result to spark up their survival quest as they host Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday. The Bees have been plagued by too many draws lately and could hold out for a similar outcome at Goodison Park.
Everton are still deep in relegation trouble and are in desperate need of a quick upturn in form. However, it is not all doom and gloom as they are currently level on points with 17th placed Leeds United and can climb as high as 15th if results go their way this weekend.
The problem for Everton is that their recent form does not inspire much confidence as they have claimed just two win in their 10 matches across all competitions. They were held to a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest in their previous Premier League fixture, twice throwing away leads from Damarai Gray and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
A small positive for Everton is that they have claimed some good results at home in recent weeks. Sean Dyche’s men have won two of their last three home matches, although they were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa in their previous fixture at Goodison Park.
Brentford travel to Goodison Park off the back of a thrilling 3-2 victory over Fulham in their previous Premier League fixture. Ethan Pinnock opened the scoring early in the first half while Ivan Toney and Mathias Jenson added further goals after the break.
That result means Brentford have only suffered one defeat in their last 10 matches across all competitions. However, they have been plagued by too many draws lately having been held in three of the last four matches in that run.
Brentford have also impressed on their recent travels with just one defeat in their last six away matches. Thomas Frank’s men have also been held in three of those matches, including back-to-back stalemates with Leeds United and Arsenal in their last two fixtures in the road.
