Both England and Spain prepare to do battle once more when they take on each other in the UEFA Women's European Championship final in Switzerland on Sunday evening.
Indeed, the pair met in the last major final in women's football, where Spain emerged victorious in the FIFA World Cup in 2023. Since winning their first piece of major silverware, the Spaniards have gone from strength to strength, demonstrated by the fact that they have won every single game that they have played at this tournament so far.
They did need extra time to overcome Germany in the semi-final though, eventually beating them 1-0. England also needed extra time to eventually beat Italy 2-1 in the other semi-final, so both teams will need to try and find the extra energy needed for one final push to the trophy.
England's recent H2H record against Spain does not bode too well for the holders, with just one win across their previous five meetings in all competitions. Still, the Lionesses will feel that it is their destiny to retain the trophy, after coming through tough battles against both Sweden and Italy in the knockout stage.

How the bookies view it: Spain strong favourites
Spain have been installed as 7/10 odds-on favourites with BoyleSports to claim victory in normal time, while England can be backed at 10/3 odds with the same bookmaker. A draw after 90 minutes is priced at 5/2 odds.
Given the fact that both teams were taken into extra time in their respective semis, we are inclined to back a repeat here. Spain should just have too much for England overall, and so BoyleSports are offering 15/2 odds for them to win after extra time, which we fancy a punt on.
Recent head-to-head: Pina inspires Spain comeback
Claudia Pina scored a brace in the second half to cancel out Alessia Russo's opener in the first and hand Spain a 2-1 win in the UEFA Women's Nations League back in June. Given that this meeting was fairly recent, it should give a decent inclination into where both teams are at in terms of facing each other.
Players to watch: Bonmati to score another big goal?
Both Chloe Kelly and Michelle Agyemang have been inspirational off of the bench for England in the knockout stage, and so both are pushing for starts here.
Aitana Bonmati scored the decisive strike against Germany, and the Ballon d'Or winner can be backed at 5/2 odds with BoyleSports to work her magic again with another goal on the big occasion.
Predicted lineups
Lauren James is an injury doubt for England after limping off against Italy, and so Kelly could take her place in the starting XI.
Spain will be expected to be unchanged with no fresh concerns in their squad.
England Women: Hampton, Bronze, Williamson, Morgan, Greenwood, Stanway, Walsh, Kelly, Toone, Hemp, Russo.
Spain Women: Coll, Batlle, Paredes, Mendez, Carmona, Bonmati, Guijarro, Putellas, Caldentey, Pina, Gonzalez.
Anything else catch the eye?
There have only been a mere six goals scored in total over the last five H2Hs in all competitions, so we are expecting another cagey and low-scoring affair. Under 2.5 total goals in normal time can be backed at 20/21 odds with BoyleSports.
