CHELSEA'S recent revival came to a shuddering halt on Merseyside this week and they must try and pick themselves up for a tricky game on Sunday at home to Wolves.
It looked like finally the Blues were heading in the right direction under Mauricio Pochettino following three league wins in a row and a League Cup semi-final second leg demolition of Middlesbrough.
But they were comprehensively outplayed and subsequently thumped at Anfield by a rampant Liverpool which showed they are still a long way from getting anywhere near the big boys again.
Wolves had a day less to prepare for this after their rollercoaster midweek loss to Manchester United. They looked down and out but two goals in the last five minutes put them level before they lost it in injury time.
They were also involved in those sickening scenes in the FA Cup when they beat hated rivals West Brom in the Black Country derby 2-0 in a tie marred by mass punch-ups in The Hawthorns.
They have been in good form though and that was their first loss in eight.
How the bookies view it
Chelsea are odds-on across the board and are 8/13 with Coral.
Wolves can be backed at 16/5 with William Hill and the draw is 9/2 with bet365.
Recent head to heads
Wolves proved to be too strong for Chelsea when the sides met at Molineux on Christmas Eve with a 2-1 home win and they also won the last game between the clubs at home too.
However, Wolverhampton Wanderers haven't won at Stamford Bridge since 1979 and Chelsea are unbeaten in London in the last 12 meetings.
Players to watch
Mykhailo Mudryk has scored five goals so far this season, but he's not exactly justified the £88.5 million transfer fee. He is 5/1 to score anytime on Sunday with UniBet.
Matheus Cunha has been in fine form for Wolves with eight goals since November. The Brazilian international is 18/5 to score anytime with William Hill.
Anything else catch the eye?
You simply cannot be steaming to Chelsea at such prohibitive prices. They have proved time and time again they are not to be trusted and they are playing very good and well-organised opposition.
The call is for Wolves to return to the Midlands with a point.
Wolves have been in fine scoring form too – netting at least two goals in seven of their last nine games. Go for them to score over 1.5 goals in London at a big price of 5/2 with Betfred.
