Celtic vs Hibernian

, KO: 15:00 , Celtic Park
Hibernian

Hibernian will be looking to take advantage of any Belgrade hangovers from Celtic when the Hoops return to SPFL Premiership duty at Parkhead.

Brendan Rodgers' side kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 1-1 draw in Serbia on Wednesday night as backing the half-time stalemate paid off for me.

It's back to the bread and butter of domestic action now and Celtic can't afford to slip up, with Hearts matching them stride for stride so far at the top of the table.

The green half of Edinburgh are their opponents for this one and Hibs are in decent shape, having gone five games unbeaten so far in the SPFL Premiership.

Four of those games have ended level though and David Gray's men crashed out of the League Cup when they lost 2-0 at Ibrox last weekend.

They could only draw 2-2 away to Falkirk in midweek so the Easter Road boss will be looking for a response when they return to Glasgow to face the Hoops.

How the bookies view it: Hoops home free

Celtic have yet to hit top gear in the SPFL Premiership but BoyleSports still make them 1/4 hot favourites with home advantage. Hibs look a bit overpriced at 11/1 while the draw pays 9/2.

Recent head to head: Parkhead pain for Hibees

Hibs have caused Celtic plenty of problems at Easter Road, with the Hoops winning on just seven of their last 18 visits.

It has been a different story at Parkhead though and Hibs have lost on their last eight visits, including four defeats in the league and cups last term.

Players to watch: Iheanacho out to impress

Kelechi Iheanacho is looking to kickstart his career at Celtic and the former Leicester striker has made an impact in all his appearances so far. The Nigerian's midweek goal in Belgrade could earn him a start for this one and he's 6/5 with BoyleSports for anytime scorer.

Hibs will look to punish Celtic on the break and the pace of Martin Boyle could cause them a few problems. The Australian international is 9/2 to add to his four-goal tally this term.

Probable line-ups

Celtic's injury issues are mostly in defence, with Alistair Johnston, Auston Trusty and Anthony Ralston still sidelined. Rodgers may make a few changes after a tough Euro tie in midweek.

Hibs have a pretty healthy squad, with only midfield duo Joe Newell and Alasana Manneh sidelined.

Celtic: Schmeichel, Donovan, Saracchi, Scales, Carter-Vickers, McGregor, Hatate, Engels, Maeda, Tounekti, Iheanacho.

Hibernian: Sallinger, O'Hora, Obita, Bushiri, Chaiwa, N Cadden, Mulligan, Levitt, McGrath, Bowie, Boyle.

Anything else catch the eye?

Celtic's defensive record has been superb this season, with only two goals conceded in seven domestic games.

But I've a feeling Hibs might get some joy in this game as they have pace and power in attack where Boyle will dovetail with Kieron Bowie.

That makes BTTS appealing at 3/4 with BoyleSports and you can boost the odds to 11/10 by adding on over 2.5 goals.

Miguel Chaiwa is a terrier in midfield for Hibs and has picked up five yellow cards in just seven appearances. He's 2/1 with Bet365 to go in the book here and that looks worth a punt.

Celtic are always good value for corners and Hibs could rack up a few on the counter attack too. So I like the evens on offer at BoyleSports for over 5.5 first-half corners.
