IT'S all to play for at both ends of the table in this critical last-day English Championship encounter.
Brentford still have a chance of automatic promotion, while Barnsley retain slim hopes of survival, but both sides need favours from elsewhere.
The Bees may well still be kicking themselves after blowing their chance to climb into the top two at the weekend.
After eight wins in a row, Thomas Frank's side crashed to a 1-0 defeat at struggling Stoke and failed to capitalise on West Brom's loss to Huddersfield.
Now a point adrift, Brentford need to take full points against Barnsley and hope the Baggies fail to win at home to QPR.
Barnsley, meanwhile, remain rooted in trouble but at least gave themselves a fighting chance with a last-gasp 1-0 win over play-off contenders Nottingham Forest at the weekend. Had they failed to find that 93rd-minute goal the Yorkshire side's relegation fate was sealed.
Instead, it was a first victory in five for the Tykes and lifted them to second bottom. Now only another victory will do. They also need Charlton Athletic, who have a superior goal difference, to lose at newly-crowned champions Leeds, and Luton Town to fail to beat Blackburn at home.
How do the bookies view it?
Brentford, unbeaten in eight at Griffin Park, are 38-100 with William Hill for a sixth straight home win. Barnsley are as big as 8-1 at Unibet for the victory they need to have any chance of survival, while a draw – which helps neither side – is 9-2 at Betfred.
Betting angles
Despite their costly weekend slip-up, Brentford have been in sensational form post lockdown and can go for the jugular here safe in the knowledge they have a play-off spot to fall back on.
With three of the division's nine highest scoring players in their ranks, the Bees boast plenty of firepower and are backable to be winning at both half-time and full-time at evens with BetVictor.
Barnsley will need to show some attacking intent too, and can add to the corner count in their last attempt at a great escape. The Tykes, however, have left themselves too much to do and there should be some mileage in backin a Barnsley win, over 1.5 goals and over seven corners at just above evens.
Algerian forward Said Benrahama, second only to 25-goal Ollie Watkins in the Brentford scoring charts this season, is due a goal after a two-game barren run. Back Berahama – linked with a move to Arsenal or Chelsea – to add to his 17 goals at 9-5 with Paddy Power.
