Bournemouth will take on West Ham on Sunday, 3 August, as part of the final round of Premier League Summer Series fixtures.
Although both teams can technically still win the pre-season tournament, they are realistically playing for second position.
Beyond that, both managers will be hoping to see a step up in intensity with the start of the new Premier League season now just two weeks away.
How the bookies view it: No odds available
There are no odds available at present for the match between Bournemouth and West Ham. Once they are released, we will update the preview.
Head to head: Plenty of draws
Four of the last five matches between Bournemouth and West Ham, and each of the last four Premier League head-to-heads, have finished all square, which tells you all you need to know about how evenly matched these two teams have been in recent seasons. Another draw on Sunday evening wouldn't be a shock to anyone.
Players to watch: Two forwards who should now be settled
Last season, West Ham and Bournemouth both had two strikers who were playing in the Premier League for the first time. For West Ham, that man was Niclas Fullkrug, and for Bournemouth, it was Evanilson.
Out of the two, it was Evanilson who fared better, but there is a feeling that there is more to come from both players.
Fullkrug signed for West Ham last summer after an impressive season for Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 12 Bundesliga goals. The experienced forward failed to get close to those levels last season, but he was hampered by injuries, which didn't help.
While Fullkrug only managed three PL goals, Evanilson netted ten. The Brazilian scored in patches and only managed one over the last seven matches of the season. More consistency will be expected of him this time around, now that he is settled.
Predicted line-ups
Bournemouth are on the verge of losing one of their best players from last season, Ilia Zabarnyi, with the defender keen on a move to PSG. With talks ongoing, he won't be risked on Sunday night. West Ham have no notable injuries, so Graham Potter could use this match as an opportunity to see his preferred starting XI in action for a prolonged period.
Bournemouth: Petrovic – Hill, Mepham, Senesi, Truffert – Billing, Soler, Adams – Brooks, Semenyo, Evanilson
West Ham: Areola – Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf – Soucek, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta – Bowen, Fullkrug
Anything else catch the eye?
It's difficult to ignore how common draws have been between these two teams in recent years, and considering neither of them has been busy in the summer transfer window, there is no real reason to believe that they won't cancel each other out again on Sunday night, even if it is a pre-season friendly.
