Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim will look to maintain solid starts to the season when they clash in a Friday night Bundesliga fixture.
Aside from a late collapse at home to Werder Bremen where they let a two-goal lead slip from the 89th minute, it has been a positive start to the season for Borussia Dortmund. They have claimed three wins from their opening four matches and are just one point off leaders Bayern Munich.
Dortmund bounced back from that disappointing 3-2 defeat to Werder Bremen by claiming a 1-0 victory at Hertha Berlin in their previous Bundesliga fixture. It was a much better performance in terms of structure and organisation with Anthony Modeste’s effort midway through the first half proving the difference.
Manager Edin Terzic may have lost Erling Haaland in the summer but Dortmund have not been goal shy this season. They have scored in every game so far with youngster Youssoufa Moukoko and Anthony Modeste particularly impressive.
Hoffenheim are also enjoying a fine start to the season, claiming three straight wins since the 3-1 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach on the opening weekend. It is a big improvement on last season's start where they won just once in their opening five matches.
There is a lot of positivity around Hoffenheim and their new manager, as no coach has taken more points in his first four matches in charge than Andre Breitenreiter. Their last Bundesliga fixture was a 1-0 victory at Augsburg with Dennis Geiger getting the goal.
Like Dortmund, goals have not been a problem for Hoffenheim this season having scored in all their matches. However, the opening day defeat to Monchengladbach highlights a poor record on their travels having claimed one win from their last six away matches in the Bundesliga.
How the bookies view it
Borussia Dortmund are considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies with a home win priced at 8/13 by Sport Nation. A victory for Hoffenheim is valued at 18/5 by Unibet while a draw is set at odds of 37/10 by SBK.
Recent head to head

Players to watch
Anthony Modeste scored his first goal for Dortmund last time out and could be worth keeping an eye on. The French striker will be keen to go on a scoring run and is priced at 8/7 by SBK to find the net on Friday.
Andrej Kramaric is also off the mark for Hoffenheim this season and could be the one to watch on Friday. The forward was on target in the last meeting with Dortmund and is priced at 28/13 by SBK to once again find the net.
Anything else catch the eye?
Dortmund and Hoffenheim have produced five goals in each of their last two meetings and could be set for another thrilling encounter. Unibet is offering 21/10 for over 4.5 goals while over 3.5 goals is valued at 19/20 by BetVictor.
Given the minimal odds for a straight Dortmund victory, a win and over 2.5 goals could provide more value at 19/10 with BoyleSports.
